OpenWhisper 2.5.2
OpenWhisper 2.5.2 improves the reliability of Windows updates and recovery.
- Canceling or retrying an update no longer allows an earlier attempt to restart the app.
- Interrupted downloads resume correctly, including downloads that finished just before the app closed.
- Setup replaces outdated runtime files cleanly and restores the previous installation if it fails.
- Interrupted updates can no longer undo a newer installer repair.
- Native rollback restores pre-update settings and database contents.
- Updates check for active work again before restarting.
Settings, transcription history, recordings, downloaded components, and model caches are preserved during setup.
Windows — updating from 2.5.1: This update opens the setup wizard once. Click Install and finish setup to receive the repaired updater; your settings and data are preserved. The 2.5.1 app launches setup without silent-install arguments.
This is a setup-only recovery release, so its Windows native-update archive is intentionally omitted. Starting with 2.5.2, normal per-user updates can use the in-app native updater when the target release includes a compatible archive. The installer fallback skips wizard pages but may show installation progress. Future native packages require updater 2.5.2.
Windows, Linux, and Apple Silicon macOS installers are included below.
