🚀 KoBar v1.0.27 Release Notes

We are excited to bring you a brand new update that makes KoBar more powerful, flexible, and significantly more stable! In this release, we have transitioned to a modular block-based note editor to elevate your user experience, built an extensible plugin system, and perfected multi-display performance.

Here are the key highlights of this update:

✨ New Features & Major Changes

  • Modular Note Editor System (#53): We have completely overhauled our note studio by switching to a block-based, modular architecture (BlockInsertionPanel). The rich text editing experience is now much more dynamic.
  • Extensible Plugin Architecture (#54, #57): We integrated a new modular, file-based plugin/extension infrastructure that allows installing features directly via local .zip files. Drag-and-drop loading feedbacks have also been optimized.
  • Advanced Calendar & Recurring Events (#64, #25): KoCalendar now supports recurring events with multi-day/date patterns, an advanced notification engine, and granular deletion options. Additionally, we added fields to include descriptions and meeting links to events.
  • Enhanced Calculator (#44): A premium currency converter backed by dynamic geolocation has been integrated into the calculator module, and the overall layout has been highly refined.
  • Shortcut Adjustments (#38, #49): Shortcuts are now consolidated into a single popup. We added Shift + LMB drag-and-drop reordering with smooth transitions, alongside support for custom tags.
  • Data Management & Migration (#21): Full export and import functionality has been added for your application data and settings, making it easy to back up or move your setup.

🛠️ Performance & UI/UX Enhancements

  • Multi-Monitor Improvements (#59): We optimized the Color Picker performance across multi-display setups and resolved alignment shifts for popups.
  • Local Icon Bundling (#50): Material Icons have been migrated to a local bundle, completely eliminating flash of unstyled text (FOUT) / icon flickering during launch.
  • Developer Experience (DX) (#46, #45): Development and production instances are now fully isolated to allow concurrent execution. A distinct dev badge is now displayed while running in development mode.
  • System Notes Protection (#48): Added a security layer to prevent system notes from being accidentally exported or imported.
  • Windows Store Integration (#52): We optimized the KoBox staging area to ensure it correctly resolves and opens the physical file path, complying fully with Windows Store guidelines.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Resolved a logic error in the calculator where entering a decimal point (.) right after a zero or an operator would cause a crash (#26).
  • Enhanced security in the Snippet Vault by requiring a password before deleting any protected snippets (#22, #24).
  • Fixed horizontal alignment and visual shifting bugs with the mini-mode toggle.
  • Updated Mac Build workflow triggers for improved automated CI/CD pipelines (#63).
