Rack Studio tester beta
- Smooth mode adds direct curved patch cords for unobstructed connections within 4U on the same rack face, with gutter/manual/handoff routing elsewhere.
- Rack Studio and Rack Cabling share geometry for exact anchors, exports, labels and search focus.
- Expanded coverage for 24-column patch panels, repeated face editing, 48 bindings and all 24 pass-through pairs.
- Updated exact-version Proxmox instructions and a sanitized community acceptance matrix.
Database schema remains 50; all beta.4 security fixes are retained. Stacked switches are deferred to the 1.9.0 work after stable 1.8.2 validation.
Validation and known limitations
Local check:full passed 37 browser tests. The final label/focus implementation passed check (299 server / 90 client tests), seven focused browser cases and independent review. Proxmox fixtures, shell/PowerShell checks, all three Compose renders, npm audit and the repository Trivy scan passed.
Screenshot determinism remains unresolved. Linux comparisons showed small pixel variations in separate screens; beta.4's comparison passed. Tolerances were not changed. The local container scan reports 51 HIGH and 3 CRITICAL OS-package findings with no fixed versions reported by Trivy; the fixable-vulnerability gate passes. Real Proxmox guest validation, seven-day soak and community feature confirmations remain outstanding. This is an experimental beta, not stable promotion.
Upgrade and test
Retain the encryption key and a database/configuration backup. Upgrading from beta.3 or earlier includes the beta.4 security migration, OIDC session revocation and role rechecking, explicit proxy trust, and opt-in traps. Rollback requires the matching previous application and pre-upgrade database/configuration snapshot.
