Releases: Kristal-Boltinn/academic-notes
Release list
Academic Notes 2.14.1
- Keep the first KP row at its full outer width and place the optional 2em indentation inside it. The solver reserves the text area once, and owned rows explicitly reset inherited text-indent.
- Let the optional prose indent override default Proof, Remark and theorem body styles, while excluding headings and captions.
- Add actual first-glyph and non-final right-edge regression checks for indented reading paragraphs, inactive CodeMirror prose and mathematical callouts. Keep native caret, touch, source restoration and PDF pagination checks.
- Update both usage guides. Physical iPad acceptance remains outstanding.
Validation: TypeScript, 28 Node regressions, mobile loading without Node/Electron, real browser/CodeMirror geometry tests, actual PDF indentation/pagination and three successful GitHub workflows.
Installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
Academic Notes 2.14.0
- Add optional visual 2em first-line prose indentation in Reading view, Live Preview and exports. Default off; no source spaces are inserted.
- Align formula-ending optimized rows by trimming theme end margins in presentation wrappers; preserve original formula nodes, LaTeX content and exact restoration.
- Permit KP on inactive read-only callout bodies when their native titles retain editable attributes. Active selections, title editing, IME and touch remain protected.
- Keep active and unsupported Live Preview prose browser-justified when the KP option is enabled. Source mode, lists and code keep their original layout.
- Update English and Chinese usage guides and add numeric fit results to local opt-in diagnostics. The physical iPad scrolling freeze remains unverified.
Validation: 28 Node regressions, TypeScript, mobile loading without Node/Electron, real browser and CodeMirror geometry/selection tests, PDF pagination/indentation and print-isolation checks.
Installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
Academic Notes 2.13.3
- Save layout recordings as visible Markdown notes through the vault API and verify each write. View recording/Open saved report buttons remove reliance on hidden JSON files. Reports stay available for retry after failed saves.
- Calibrate rendered non-final KP lines using actual right-edge measurements, distributing small residuals through existing gaps. Preserve line breaks, text, inline formulas, links, the natural final line and one QED; use native layout for unsupported geometry.
- Add coverage for narrow/wide callouts, 1px tracking, divergent fragment/final shaping metrics, visible vault files, readback failures and retries. Extend opt-in diagnostics with viewport changes and anonymous hit targets.
- Update both usage guides. Private device recordings are not published. The remaining physical iPad scrolling freeze still needs device verification; no fix is claimed.
Validation: Node regressions, TypeScript, mobile bundle loading without Node/Electron, real browser/CodeMirror tests, diagnostic vault save/readback/retry coverage and existing PDF/figure/print-isolation checks.
Installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
Academic Notes 2.13.1
- Fix ragged non-final Proof and other mathematical-callout lines in the KP emergency pass. Allocate the actual visible spacing and measure inline formulas without offscreen accessibility descendants inflating their width.
- Keep reading-view postprocessors and queued reading layout away from Live Preview editor fragments, including fragments moved into the editor after rendering.
- Protect callout titles and bodies while the native caret remains inside them after focus changes. Defer layout during touch gestures and momentum scrolling; keep scrolling events passive and clean up listeners.
- Preserve Markdown, original math/link nodes, copying, cross-file references, PDF pagination and one final Proof QED. Update the English and Chinese usage guides.
Validation: 27 Node regressions, TypeScript, mobile bundle loading, real CodeMirror/native-caret and postprocessor-ownership tests, touch cancellation and inertia tests, visible right-edge checks at narrow/wide widths and in final PDF printing, plus default/Phycat/Minimal browser and PDF regressions. Physical iPad/WebKit acceptance remains separate.
All three typography switches keep their existing values and remain off by default for new installs. No dependencies or permissions are added.
Installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
Academic Notes 2.13.0
- Extend optional Knuth-Plass typography to Proof, Remark and other mathematical callout bodies in Reading view, read-only Live Preview widgets and desktop PDF exports.
- Reserve first-line width for inline titles and last-line space for one final Proof QED, including across PDF pages. Keep inline math, original links, copying behavior and Markdown intact.
- Use bounded ragged emergency lines when indivisible formulas prevent full justification. Unsupported, explicit-break, indented and oversized content retains native layout.
- Restore native callout bodies for active source ranges, keep editable titles under the host control, defer reflow while copying, avoid idle DOM rewrites, and clean up on disable or extension removal.
- Update English/Chinese settings and guides with a synthetic Proof illustration. No dependency or permission is added.
Validation: 27 Node regressions, TypeScript, simulated mobile bundle loading, real CodeMirror editing/copying/cleanup checks, narrow/wide callout and inline-formula tests, and actual multi-page Proof PDFs. Existing numbering, references, figure floating, print isolation and palette tests remain covered. Physical iPad/WebKit acceptance remains separate.
Installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
Academic Notes 2.12.1
- Add an independent, off-by-default Knuth-Plass Live Preview switch under Settings > Academic Notes > Paragraph typography (Beta).
- Optimize inactive standalone plain paragraphs. Caret entry, intersecting selections and IME composition immediately restore native editing; leaving reoptimizes visible prose.
- Preserve original Markdown and source-position mapping through official CodeMirror decorations. Defer measurements safely and reject stale results after source edits.
- Retain native layout for inline math, links, formatting, lists, environments, multiline-source paragraphs and unsupported typography. Bound all work and respond to widths, fonts and theme changes.
- Update English and Chinese usage guides. No dependency or permission is added.
Validation: 25 Node regressions, real CodeMirror source-preservation, hit-testing, editing, selection, composition, resizing and scroll checks, mobile bundle loading, and existing reading/PDF, cross-file-reference, figure-floating and palette regressions. Physical iPad/WebKit acceptance testing remains separate.
Installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
Academic Notes 2.11.0
- Add optional Knuth-Plass paragraph line breaking in Reading view and desktop PDF exports. Both switches are off by default; enable them independently in Settings > Academic Notes > Paragraph typography (Beta).
- Optimize measured Latin/CJK paragraph breaks and gaps while preserving original inline links, formatting and math. Reflow after width/font changes and defer changes while text is selected.
- Preserve editing layout and source Markdown. Unsupported or oversized paragraphs fall back to browser layout under bounded work limits. HTML snapshots remain responsive; automatic word hyphenation is not yet supported.
- Keep native paragraph widow/orphan protection in PDF, recheck callout heights after typography and retain isolated printing and figure-layout rollback.
- Update English and Chinese usage guides with a typography comparison and documented limits. No runtime dependency or permission is added.
Validation: 25 Node regressions, mobile bundle loading, actual Chromium copying/selection/resizing/math/link checks, and real PDF line-position boundary checks. Default, Phycat and Minimal typography, palette, cross-file reference, picture-fitting and safe-floating regressions pass. Physical iPad/WebKit verification remains separate.
The three installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
Academic Notes 2.10.0
- Fix raw LaTeX labels in commutative diagrams when the host renderer supplies CommonHTML or is unavailable. A private bundled TeX/AMS-to-SVG fallback preserves the shared coordinates, with initialization deferred until needed. Bare TeX, dollar delimiters and LaTeX delimiters are supported.
- Add short curved commutativity arrows inside triangles. Connect the two-step path and direct arrow, choose Mark commutativity, then click source, intermediate node and target.
- Support touch selection, deletion and undo for markers; remove dependent markers when nodes, arrows or grid positions are removed. Existing diagrams remain compatible.
- Update English and Chinese usage guides, the tensor-product example, illustration and MathJax Apache-2.0 notices. No runtime downloads or new network/filesystem permissions.
Validation: 20 Node regressions, mobile release-bundle loading, real SVG/CommonHTML and unavailable-renderer tests, diagram touch editing, responsive coordinates, and actual PDF links, pagination and isolated printing. Physical iPad verification remains separate.
The three installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
Academic Notes 2.9.0
- Add experimental PDF figure priorities: shrink visuals to 80%, safely advance ordinary paragraphs, or keep page gaps. Bound attempts and restore normal layout on exhausted attempts or failed final verification.
- Keep mathematical environments and nested figures in place; preserve source notes, numbering and complete captions.
- Align diagram math labels and arrows in pure SVG coordinates for mobile views. Add touch-sized preview arrow selection and direct rendered diagram deletion without source mode.
- Share Figure numbering and cross-file/book references between standalone diagrams and pictures. Add optional captions and unique IDs for newly inserted diagrams; avoid counting enclosing figures twice.
- Update English and Chinese documentation, examples and the diagram illustration.
Validation: 18 Node tests, mobile bundle loading, real MathJax/CodeMirror browser interactions, 39 palette cases, and actual PDF float priorities, boundary checks and rollback under default, Phycat and Minimal styles. Internal links and isolated printing remain covered. Physical iPad verification remains separate.
The three installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
Academic Notes 2.8.0
- Fix appearance dropdowns reopening after selection while retaining settings scroll position.
- Add linked Proof-of-theorem/lemma/claim headers and separate-line empty Proof headers.
- Add a commutative diagram editor (Beta): 2x2/3x3 grids, native math labels, solid/dashed arrows, label placement and undo. Diagrams are stored as editable note code blocks.
- Add optional TikZJax templates and SVG export integration, with completion checks and isolated glyph references.
- Keep figure groups and captions together in PDF and proportionally fit oversized images. Preserve source order without LaTeX float reordering.
- Expand English and Chinese documentation, examples and screenshots.
Validation: 15 Node tests, mobile bundle loading, browser/CodeMirror interactions, real MathJax rendering, 39 palette cases and native PDFs under default, Phycat and Minimal styles. Cross-chapter links and print-window isolation remain covered. Physical iPad acceptance and the actual optional TikZJax compiler remain separate checks.
The three installation assets are built by GitHub Actions and include artifact attestations.
