Answers that are right more often, charts that need less hand-work, and series that are easier to find.

Correct answers

  • Searches for "trade balance", "government debt" and "turkey inflation" find their series again.
  • Every date is read the same way, and a bad one is refused in words.
  • The euro-area surveys follow the euro area to EA21.

Breakdowns

  • GDP growth by expenditure for 13 European places, from Eurostat, and for the US, from BEA.
  • Annual growth for the UK, from the ONS.
  • Contributions come back as stacked bars beside their total.

Charts

  • Rates of every kind share one scale.
  • A transform can be set per series.
  • Outside data can be drawn beside Bedrok's, labelled as outside.
  • Daily calendars have no weekends.
  • A partial last period says how much it holds.
  • at gives one bar per series.
  • with_related brings a yield's parts in one call.

Finding things

  • The six FX pairs answer as series (eurusd, gbpusd, …).
  • The headline index wins a tie in search.
  • Warnings show only when the words are about them.
  • An empty search for a place says why.
  • Refresh answers for the series asked and says what arrived.

New series

  • UK real yields and breakevens, held to the nominal yield by validate.
  • Japan's headline CPI.
  • The IMF's annual growth for Japan.

@KrustyKronk KrustyKronk released this 12 Oct 11:31

The first public release of Bedrok: public macroeconomic data in your AI assistant.

Bedrok is a local MCP server. It fetches each series from the publisher that produces it (about thirty central banks, statistics offices and international organisations) into a store on your own machine, with its licence, its attribution line and any documented reason to doubt the official number. Percentiles come with their sample; charts come with a recipe so they look the same in every assistant. It never gives financial advice.
