v0.1.0 — pixel-first screen reader

@Kush-Meta Kush-Meta released this 03 Sep 21:44

First public cut.

Reads any window aloud in the order a person would read it, working from pixels
rather than the accessibility tree — so it reaches PDFs in a viewer, remote
desktop, canvas and Electron apps, and legacy software that exposes nothing.
Everything runs on device; there are no network calls in the codebase.

Attached: slicer-demo.mov — a full screen recording of Slicer reading an
SEC filing in Preview. Silent: capturing system audio needs a virtual audio
device.

Measured on an M-series Mac, macOS 15.3:

First spoken word 154 ms
Capture 14 ms
Recognition, top quarter 155 ms
Speech, to first audio 5–14 ms

156 tests across 15 suites. Requires macOS 14+. No model to download.
