Customizing your instance
DVinyl is meant to feel like yours. This page covers the ways you can shape the look and the layout, all from the app, no coding needed.
DVinyl ships with 14 color themes: Default, Emerald, Pink, Ocean, Amber, Purple, Sakura, Cyan, Slate, Forest, Sunset, Indigo, Midnight and Sand. Each one has a light and a dark variant, and DVinyl follows your choice automatically.
The fun part: you can set a different theme per category. Give your music a warm Sunset, your movies a moody Midnight, and your books a calm Forest. Head to the personalization page to pick a theme for the home page and for each media type.
The dashboard is modular. You choose:
- Which stat widgets appear (total items, top artist, top author, total value, piece counts for LEGO, your top console for games, and many more depending on the types you use).
- The order they show up in.
Turn on the numbers you care about and hide the rest.
The navigation bar can hold shortcuts that jump straight to a filtered view, for example "Vinyls only", "Mangas", "Sealed LEGO" or "4K movies". Add the shortcuts that match how you browse, so your favorite views are always one click away.
The dashboard has a quick add button. You can choose which media type it targets, so adding your most common kind of item is instant.
Not every collector wants every type. From the admin panel you can turn media types on or off per collection. Only collect music and movies? Enable just those two and keep the interface tidy. A type whose API key is missing simply stays disabled until you add the key (see API keys).
Beyond themes, you can give a media type its own icon and badge colors for a specific collection. This is handy when the same type should look different across your libraries. Look for the customize option next to each plugin in the plugin editor.
DVinyl speaks English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Set your default language from the settings, and you are good to go.
