This patch release improves admin UX after self-updates and adds a small configuration switch for account approval flows.

Highlights

  • Admin pages are now served with Cache-Control: no-store to avoid stale UI (notably the version number) after a self-update/restart.
  • Account approval can be toggled via env: set BOOKSTORAGE_REQUIRE_ACCOUNT_VALIDATION=false to allow users to sign in immediately after registration.
  • Navbar is slimmer across the app: the “Add a work” link is kept on the dashboard only, reducing topbar width elsewhere.

Ops / Release workflow

This release was prepared with the repository’s push-release workflow: align in-code APP_VERSION, run local CI-equivalent checks, create an annotated tag, push branch+tag, then publish GitHub release notes via gh.
