Now detects commits from ANY source - terminal, GitHub extension, VS Code UI, or any git tool!

🆕 What's New

Universal Git Commit Watcher

LUNA now watches for git commits from any source and automatically prompts you to update stale summaries.

How it works:

  • Watches .git/refs/ directory for changes
  • Detects commits from terminal, GitHub extension, VS Code UI, git GUI, etc.
  • Shows notification: "📝 X summaries may be outdated"
  • Click to update or dismiss

Benefits:

  • ✅ No more missed reminders about stale summaries
  • ✅ Works with any git workflow
  • ✅ Automatic detection (no manual git hooks needed)
  • ✅ Smart detection (only notifies when truly stale)

🐛 Bug Fixes

MCP Server Auto-Update

  • Extension now automatically updates MCP server path when upgrading versions
  • Fixes issue where MCP server pointed to old version after extension update
  • Silent updates on version changes (no notification spam)

Modified Files:

  • src/extension.ts - Integrated commit watcher into activation/deactivation

How it detects commits:

.git/HEAD changes → Watcher fires → Checks for stale summaries → Notifies user

No manual git hook configuration needed! It just works.

User commits via GitHub extension
(LUNA doesn't notice - no reminder)

After:

User commits via GitHub extension
→ Watcher detects commit
→ LUNA shows: "📝 Summaries may be outdated"
→ Click to update

Extensions → ⋯ (More Actions) → Install from VSIX
