LTBR·FM Receiver v0.5.0

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 02 Sep 15:29

What's new

  • Two-line dot-matrix display. The top line carries the station
    and the track you are hearing; the bottom line cycles through the
    next track with a live countdown, the programme and the DJ on
    air. It fits the panel that was already there — no window grew.
  • The full metadata set. The receiver now decodes the station's
    complete in-band ICY payload (current and upcoming tracks,
    programme, DJ, talk and ident markers) instead of just the track
    title.
  • The display no longer runs ahead of the audio. Metadata is
    held until the audio it describes actually reaches your speakers,
    so the track name changes exactly when the track does.
  • Stays on the live edge. The same timing anchor measures how
    far behind the broadcast you are. Drift past 15s is trimmed back
    to the ~8s target, falling back to a silent reconnect if trimming
    will not hold — no more slowly sliding minutes behind the station.
  • Mini is now a face. The minimise key has left both fascias;
    pick Face → Mini from the right-click menu instead.

Downloads

.dmg (macOS — Apple Silicon & Intel) · .msi / -setup.exe (Windows) ·
.AppImage / .deb / .rpm (Linux). Builds are unsigned:

  • macOS reports unsigned downloads as "damaged". After dragging the app
    to Applications, clear the quarantine flag once per update:
    xattr -cr "/Applications/LTBR FM Receiver.app"
  • Windows: SmartScreen → "More info" → "Run anyway".

@github-actions github-actions released this 26 Aug 10:40

What's new

  • Vintage 80s is now the default face. New installs open on
    the backlit tuning-dial receiver instead of the rack unit;
    existing users' saved face choice is unaffected.

@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Aug 16:28

What's new

  • Exit from the right-click menu. The context menu now ends
    with an Exit item that quits the whole app, with the running
    version stamped (debossed, like the rest of the fascia) below it.
  • Each face remembers its EQ panel. Hiding or showing the
    equaliser is now saved per face and restored on the next launch,
    so a compact vintage receiver and a full default rack can
    coexist.
  • Menu separators are actually visible now — the divider style had
    never been defined.

LTBR·FM Receiver v0.2.1

@LTBRFM LTBRFM released this 24 Aug 14:55

What's new

  • Fixed: silent inter-station static in the Linux AppImage. The
    vintage face's tuning static is produced with Web Audio, which
    WebKit renders through GStreamer — and the AppImage shipped
    without any GStreamer plugins. The media framework is now
    bundled (bundleMediaFramework), so tuning between stations
    hisses and crackles like it should.
  • No changes for Windows, macOS or the Linux .deb/.rpm packages;
    those rebuilt unchanged.

LTBR·FM Receiver v0.2.0

@LTBRFM LTBRFM released this 24 Aug 14:55

What's new

  • Built-in update check. The receiver now checks ltbr.fm for new releases
    (on startup and every 4 hours). When one is available, the standby indicator
    becomes an amber blinking "New version" alert that opens the download page.
  • Identical rendering on every OS. The UI fonts (Inter + JetBrains Mono)
    are now bundled, so text metrics — and the layout maths that depend on
    them — can no longer differ between Linux, Windows and macOS. Fixes the
    misaligned standby LED on Linux.
  • The window sizes itself to the faceplate. No more hard-coded height:
    the app measures its content at startup and fits the window exactly,
    eliminating the extra bottom margin seen on Linux.
