Added the ability to display images using matplotlib's interpolation options.
Fixed bug where normalize_image_sizes was treated as always True.
Added the pixels_per_line parameter to provide more user control over how the number of dimensions in the x-dimension is selected.
Other minor bugfixes and reformatting.
