Highlights

Test runs can now pull their inputs from Test Manager: point at a dataset row and its columns arrive as ${col} parameters. File uploads resolve recorded media by alias or name, unresolved variable names warn instead of aborting the run, and scroll steps describe their target so replay can heal them.

Data-driven runs

  • Feed a test from a Test Manager dataset row — pass --dataset-id and --dataset-row and every column in that row becomes a ${col} parameter inside the run.
  • Rows are addressed by ID, never by position — a dataset row is identified by its _id, so reordering or inserting rows upstream doesn't silently change which row a run picks up.
  • Clear errors when the flags don't line up — the grid runner checks --dataset-id / --dataset-row before starting instead of failing mid-run.

Uploads that find the right file

  • file_upload resolves recorded files by alias or name — a step that referenced an uploaded file during recording now maps to the stored copy at run time, so uploads work on machines that never had the original path.
  • Media travels with the test — the media map is carried on every write and sent when a run starts, so a test moved between machines or shared with a teammate still has its attachments.

Variables that warn instead of blocking

  • An unresolved name no longer stops a run — kane-cli emits a single warning per run and continues, rather than refusing to start.
  • One warning per run, on every run path — the same message appears whether the run is launched from the CLI, the TUI, or a grid run.

Replay that heals itself

  • Scroll steps survive page changes — a scroll-into-view step is now described by what it scrolls to, so replay can re-find the target when the layout shifts.
  • Model instructions stick through grounded scrolls — the instruction is carried along the grounded scroll path, and stale page context is no longer reused mid-run.
