Highlights

Replays now behave like real runs: stored values, API responses, and JavaScript results resolve against the current run instead of author-time data. Attached browsers finally honor the window size you configured.

Replays that use this run's data

  • Stored values resolve at run time — a step that stores a parameter now records what this run actually produced, including an empty string, instead of falling back to the author-time value.
  • Replayed API and JavaScript steps feed the next step — the response from a replayed API call and the result of a replayed JS step reach the operation that depends on them, so downstream steps see real data.
  • JS results are recorded as JSON — no more Python-style reprs in results, so values are directly usable and comparable.
  • JavaScript reaches the page exactly as written — JS scripts are sent verbatim with no substitution, and script matching ignores surrounding whitespace so formatting changes don't break a match.
  • Pure replays carry their own results — the replay's result bundle reflects that run only, and overlays keep applying correctly even after an instruction is swapped.

Browser behavior that matches what you configured

  • Your window size is the actual page viewport — when kane-cli attaches to an existing browser, the configured size applies to the page, with browser chrome measured once rather than through another override.
  • Key combinations use the platform's main modifier — Cmd on macOS, Ctrl elsewhere, so shortcuts work without per-OS test variants.
  • A disabled playground degrades gracefully — it drops to read-only instead of aborting the session.
