Highlights

Non-TTY runs now emit a versioned NDJSON event stream, so scripts and CI can parse kane-cli output instead of scraping terminal text. Team test runs gained per-member event logs and live streaming, remote runs surface their job URL immediately, and skill installation works again on Windows.

Output you can parse

  • Non-TTY output is now a versioned NDJSON stream — every run and testmd execution emits structured events with a version stamp at the front, so tooling can depend on the shape of what it reads.
  • Events are also written to events.ndjson — the stream is teed to a file alongside the terminal, so you get a durable record even when the terminal output is dropped.
  • A live run is findable from disk — an active-run pointer lets a separate process or file reader attach to a run that's already in progress.
  • The wire contract is documented — the NDJSON event format now has its own reference in the docs, so you can build against it instead of guessing.

Following a test run, member by member

  • Per-member event logs — each member of a kane-cli testrun writes its own event log instead of everything landing in one interleaved stream.
  • Progress events — testrun_progress events report how far along a run is, making progress bars and CI status reporting straightforward.

Remote test runs

  • The job URL shows up right away — kane-cli testrun --remote prints the job URL early, so you can open it while the run is still starting.
  • --remote no longer changes TTY behavior — output formatting stays consistent whether you run locally or remotely.

Windows installs

  • Skill tarballs extract correctly on Windows — archives are now extracted with relative paths so GNU tar on Windows handles them, fixing failed skill installs.
  • The regression is guarded in CI — the Windows tar path is covered by tests, so this can't quietly break again.
  • Skill versions are validated, not pasted into URLs — a bad version is caught up front instead of turning into a confusing fetch error.
