kane-cli 0.8.3
Highlights
Two new ways to pull remote content into tests: paste any web URL and kane-cli fetches it automatically, or hit the new scrape endpoint to pull structured page content on demand. A handful of reliability fixes round out the release.
[0.8.3] - 2026-08-14
Feed any web URL directly into context
- Any web URL is now a valid content source — paste a remote URL as input and kane-cli fetches and ingests it automatically, no manual download step required.
More reliable evidence and log files
- Log and evidence files now write correctly on all systems — UTF-8 encoding is pinned on every file write, so non-ASCII characters in logs and evidence no longer corrupt or fail silently.
Smarter click and scroll targets
- Clicks and scrolls hit the right element more often — target resolution now looks at parent element context when identifying text nodes, removing a fallback that could silently miss on the first attempt.
All package manager bundles its own runtime
- Kane-CLI no longer requires a separate Node install — the Node 24 runtime and assurance-agent are bundled directly into Kane-CLI; Node 20 is now the minimum supported version.
