What is EchoForge?

EchoForge is a fully offline voice changer for Android and iPhone that records your voice, applies one of 24 carefully tuned effects (or a stack of effects you build yourself), and shares the result directly to messaging apps. The whole pipeline — recording, processing, encoding the audio file — runs on your device. There are no ads, no account, no internet permission, and no tracking.

The unique part: stackable effect chains. You can layer pitch, reverb, echo, distortion, bitcrush and more, drag-and-drop them into the order you want, and save the result as your own custom voice. Most voice changer apps lock that level of customization behind a subscription. EchoForge keeps it free.

How EchoForge Works

Q: Where does the audio processing happen? A: Entirely on the device. EchoForge does not require an internet connection at any step.

Q: Are my voice recordings uploaded? A: Never. Audio stays on the device. There is no cloud, no account, and no telemetry.

Q: Can I really stack effects? A: Yes. Add pitch, reverb, echo, distortion, bitcrush, and EQ blocks, drag them into any order, and tweak each one's sliders. Save the chain to a custom preset slot.

Q: Why is sharing to WhatsApp / Telegram / Discord so reliable? A: EchoForge exports real audio files with the correct format, sample rate, and metadata — not screenshots or broken attachments. The receiving app sees a normal voice note.

FAQ

Is EchoForge free? Yes. No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions. Every effect, every preset, every export is free.

Do I need an account? No. There is no sign-up, no email, no login.

Does it use the internet? No. EchoForge does not request internet permission and does not connect to any server.

Does it collect data? No. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs.

Why does it need microphone permission? To record your voice — that's the only purpose. The mic is not used otherwise.

Why does it need files / media permission? To save the exported audio file and to let you share it.

What audio formats does it export? Standard audio formats compatible with WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, and other messengers. The receiving app plays the clip without conversion.

How long can a recording be? There is no fixed cap. Limit is your device storage.

Real-time voice changing during a call? No. EchoForge transforms recorded clips, not live audio. This is by design — real-time voice modification during phone calls is restricted by mobile platforms.

What devices are supported? Any Android phone or tablet with a microphone, and iPhones / iPads on iOS 13.0 or later.

How do I report a bug? Open an issue at github.com/Lapnito/echoforge/issues or email tom@lapnito.cz.
