What's new
Easier to use
- Clearer buffer buttons: Pause and Stop in the top bar now use round icons, so Stop no longer looks like the window's Maximize button.
- Pages open at the top instead of where the previous page was scrolled to.
- Tidier clip grid: cards in a row line up, and the latest clip's details stay on one line.
- Video quality: all five quality options fit on one row.
- Settings are easier to read: descriptions use the full width, the selected option is clearly highlighted, and number fields line up.
- Small windows: every sidebar page stays visible.
- Overlay settings: the position picker now shows the real "Clip saved" popup.
- Update dialog: release notes are formatted properly, with a View on GitHub button.
- Player: shows the clip's thumbnail while the video loads.
- Settings → General: Updates now comes before Setup.
- New installs: the replay buffer has no size limit by default.
Safer
- A command set to run after each save now needs your confirmation first.
- The clips and cache folders can't be a whole drive or a system folder.
- Vido only writes saves where you chose with Save as…, and only opens clips from your clips folder or files you saved.
- Updates must be signed for the exact version they claim to be.
- Updating the portable version restarts Vido more reliably.
- Clearing the cache only removes Vido's own buffer files.
More reliable
- A problem in the overlay, game detection, update checks or the folder watcher no longer stops that feature (the overlay could take all of Vido down with it).
- Game detection only runs while the buffer is on.
- Debug logs no longer fill up with network messages.
