Metal Gear Solid Mobile 0.1
First release of the native port of Metal Gear Solid Mobile (N-Gage 2.0, 2008) for Windows, Linux, Android, the New 3DS and the PS Vita.
No game data is included. You need your own copy of the game: Metal.Gear.Solid.n-gage (2,542,447 bytes, SHA-256 575afba9a431775edd30e20a54e23380d182560d7d51db90ae5edd5b810b2d81). The first start installs the game from it.
| Download | Platform | Install |
|---|---|---|
MGS_Mobile_0.1_Windows_x64.zip |
Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit | Unzip, run mgs_mobile.exe, drop your .n-gage on the setup window (or Browse to it). |
MGS_Mobile_0.1_Linux_x64.tar.gz |
Linux, x86-64 | Unpack, run ./mgs_mobile --install /path/to/Metal.Gear.Solid.n-gage once, then ./mgs_mobile. |
MGS_Mobile_0.1_Android_arm64.apk |
Android 7+, 64-bit ARM | Install the APK, start it and pick your .n-gage in the file picker. |
MGS_Mobile_0.1_New3DS.zip |
New 3DS / New 2DS (Luma3DS, Homebrew Launcher) | Copy the 3ds folder to the SD card, put your .n-gage in sdmc:/3ds/mgs_mobile/, start it from the Homebrew Launcher. Sound needs sdmc:/3ds/dspfirm.cdc. |
MGS_Mobile_0.1_PSVita.vpk |
PS Vita (HENkaku / Enso) | Needs the kubridge plugin (*KERNEL in ur0:tai/config.txt) and ur0:data/libshacccg.suprx (e.g. from ShaRKBR33D). Install the VPK with VitaShell, put your .n-gage in ux0:data/mgs_mobile/, start it. |
Controls: F1 (Back / R3 on a controller, Select on the 3DS and Vita) opens the settings menu, which pauses the game. Keyboard: arrows move, Z = action, C = first person, Enter = OK, A = pause menu, X = equipment.
Known limitations in 0.1: the Linux build has only been tried under WSL; the PS Vita has no touch controls yet and draws textures without mipmaps; an Old 3DS / 2DS runs the game, but slowly.
SHA256SUMS.txt lists the checksums of the downloads.
