This is the release link for UAT testing

Instructions to Test

  1. Download and extract the source code zip file
  2. Open terminal and cd to the StudyPlanPro main directory
  3. Run python -m venv env to setup python virtual environment
  4. Activate virtual environment using env\Scripts\activate or source env/bin/activate
  5. Install requirements via pip install -r requirements.txt
  6. Run the following commands in order:
    • python manage.py makemigrations
    • python manage.py migrate
  7. Run the localhost server and copy paste the link that appears after running
    • python manage.py runserver

  • User authentication almost fully functional
  • Website UI complete for the first course
  • Database querying added
  • Testing suite fully updated for all currently functioning parts of the website

  • UI for first course tracking complete including flowchart and GE/PE selection.
  • UI for recommendations set-up
  • UI for demand table set-up
  • Login UI updated to be a separate page (was previously a pop-up)
  • User sign-up UI complete

Functionality, Back-end

  • User registration using UP email address
  • User log-in using UP email address (UI updated, see changes under UI, Front-end)
  • Demand table searching should now properly show if course exists or not

Testing

  • Unit tests for all urls.py
  • Unit tests for all models.py
  • Unit tests for all views.py
  • Unit tests for all forms.py

Known Issues

  • Unit tests for account registration do not appear to coincide with actual website behavior. Unconfirmed which status_codes should be returned, status_code 302 for redirect returned when status_code 200 is expected, cases that should be rendered show redirect status_code.

Summary

  • Currently in very early stages
  • No working functionality
  • UI only implemented for some parts of the application (see details below)

UI

  • Homepage: The page is complete but only the buttons related to login direct to somewhere.
  • Login: The pop-up is complete but actual form processing is not implemented (defaults to showing invalid email case). Google button does not redirect to anywhere as this will be tackled when implementing OAuth.
