Task Continuum v0.1.1

Windows x64 update built from latest main (d22e027) plus release preparation.
Release commit: 4cd3939fee1bded012d7e28104f9a163639fbaba.

Changes since v0.1.0

  • New transparent stacked-layer application icon: blue top and bottom, red middle.
  • Synchronize the selected Git checkout and publish newly created tasks through the current workspace workflow.
  • Ignore unused Git filter configuration during synchronization.
  • Accept Git-compatible LF/CRLF record text while continuing to reject noncanonical whitespace and invalid records.
  • Update release tests for generated task file lists and the current package version.

Downloads

  • TaskContinuum-0.1.1-win-x64-setup.exe: current-user Windows installer with selectable destination.
  • TaskContinuum-0.1.1-win-x64.zip: extract the entire ZIP, then run TaskContinuum.exe.
  • SHA256SUMS-v0.1.1.txt: SHA-256 checksums for both files.

Unsigned release: Windows may show an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning.
Verify downloaded files against the checksum manifest before running them.

The desktop includes Electron. Git is required for repository operations.
Native chat requires an authorized, running VS Code 1.137 Agent Host with AHP 0.9.0.
The standalone task CLI requires Node.js 24; managed remote connections also require
the official Dev Tunnel CLI and appropriate account permissions.

The v2 binding/receipt/creation-record requirements from v0.1.0 remain in effect.
Older development metadata is not silently migrated or reset. Update both desktops
and explicitly confirm existing native chats when required. Native history and
device keys are not deleted.

Validation

  • ESLint, TypeScript checks and production desktop/CLI builds passed.
  • All 259 targeted unit/integration tests passed after updating two stale assertions, including real multi-peer Git/SSH synchronization.
  • All 9 desktop regression tests passed.
  • The final ZIP was tested outside the source checkout: startup, icon, sandboxed renderer, CLI task creation and restart recovery passed.
  • Installer executable, ASAR, CLI and icon payloads match the tested ZIP.
  • Production package contents were inspected; source tests, local profiles and credentials are not release inputs.

v0.1.0 remains available unchanged.

@Leoncl2025 Leoncl2025 released this 18 Sep 07:21

Task Continuum v0.1.0

First Windows x64 desktop release.

Highlights

  • Chat-first workbench with hierarchical task navigation, collapsible task details, requirements, plans, checklists, search, and task creation.
  • Native Agent Host chats with streaming, model selection, image attachments, explicit task/session binding, and recovery.
  • Local repository onboarding and managed remote devices over Dev Tunnels and restricted SSH.
  • Logical v2 session bindings, original chat recovery after Host restart, connection retries, dynamic Host model options, and remembered model selections.
  • Compact model controls in the message composer, with expandable model options.
  • Uses the supplied Task Continuum task/session logo for the application, window, installer, and shortcuts.
  • Includes required Dev Tunnels SSH runtime dependencies.
  • Standalone task-document CLI included outside the application archive, so agent task creation does not require a source checkout.

Downloads

  • Installer: TaskContinuum-0.1.0-win-x64-setup.exe - current-user installation by default, with a selectable destination.
  • ZIP: TaskContinuum-0.1.0-win-x64.zip - extract the whole archive, then run TaskContinuum.exe.
  • Checksums: SHA256SUMS.txt - SHA-256 hashes for both downloads.

This release is unsigned. Windows may display an unknown-publisher or SmartScreen warning. Verify the file's SHA-256 against SHA256SUMS.txt before running it.

Requirements and boundaries

  • The desktop bundles Electron; Node.js and npm are not required just to launch it.
  • Repository creation and synchronization require Git.
  • Real chat requires a running, authorized VS Code 1.137 Agent Host supporting AHP 0.9.0. Task Continuum does not bundle or replace that Host.
  • Managed remote access additionally requires the official Dev Tunnel CLI, the same Microsoft work-account owner, and OS secure storage.
  • The optional standalone task CLI requires Node.js 24.
  • No user profiles, credentials, task workspaces, or conversation history are included in these downloads.
  • Existing private profile data is retained when uninstalling.

Compatibility notice

This build requires v2 binding metadata, receipts, delivery/cache and private
creation records. Both desktops must be updated. Older metadata is not silently
migrated or reset; explicitly confirm existing native chats using fresh v2
binding metadata. Do not edit old signed binding logs in place. Original native
chat history and device keys are left untouched. See the repository's workspace
synchronization and receipt recovery documentation before updating an earlier
development build.

Verification

  • ESLint, TypeScript checks, and production desktop/CLI builds passed.
  • 433 targeted unit/integration/component tests passed; 2 live-Host opt-in tests were skipped.
  • 9 desktop regression tests passed, including native chat recovery, compact layouts, model controls, and local task-agent workflows.
  • The final ZIP was extracted outside the source checkout and passed packaged startup, icon loading, standalone CLI task creation and restart recovery.
  • The installer executable, application archive, CLI and icon payload hashes match the tested ZIP.
  • The embedded executable icon was extracted and visually checked against the supplied task/session logo.
  • Release downloads have SHA-256 checksums; executable and installer signatures are NotSigned.
