Cards & MultiCards

• Mail cards now show the sender's name instead of a plain letter avatar
• Font size setting (raised to 36pt max) now scales the whole card, not just the text — no more clipping at larger sizes

LesterMark v2.12

Tag hierarchy management, Custom Cards on Mac, and a configurable Card image.

• Manage Tags: turn a tag group into a real, colored tag in one click (pick the color yourself — no more random), merge two groups together (fixes inconsistently-named duplicates like "Travel"/"travel"), move a single tag between groups, and quick-create a child tag under a group without retyping its name. Manage Tags should also just feel faster now — fixed a real caching bug that made it (and every tag edit) sluggish.
• New: assign a tag group's own name directly to a Bookmark, in both Edit Tags and Capture — not just its individual children.
• Cards: build and save your own custom field combinations on Mac (ported from iPhone), managed from "Manage Custom Card Views…" in the app menu.
• New: Display → "Card image" swaps Cards' left-hand picture zone for Tags (colored pills) or Title (large, centered) instead of the automatic per-type picture — one setting, applies instantly to every Bookmark.
• Capture from Clipboard — ⌃⌘U links a URL sitting on your clipboard from any app.
• Mail: message previews now actually get generated and show up in Cards as a real quote of the message, not just a sender initial; a background pass fixes this for previously-captured mail too.
• "Regenerate Preview" now works from any view, not just Gallery.

LesterMark v2.11

New default view, Cards improvements, and a Group feature refresh.

• New: Group — give any Bookmark a single primary home, alongside (not instead of) Tags. Filter, sort, and a Group column in the Bookmarks list; assign via the Bookmark menu or right-click → Move to Group…
• Cards is now the view LesterMark opens to by default, with a redesigned one-per-line layout (Compact/Standard/Detailed field presets), favorites pinned to the top, and Trash now always opening in Cards too, with a clearer way back to Bookmarks.
• Highlights, Books, Mail, and code/text files all get a more useful preview in Cards instead of a generic icon.
• Lenses (saved filter/view combinations) now also remember the Bookmarks window's size, and can be saved directly from the toolbar's Lenses menu.
• Fixed: some Photos bookmarks opening in Preview instead of Photos; Obsidian preview generation could hang on very large vaults.
• iPhone: Web bookmarks now respect the browser you've configured on Mac instead of always saying "Open in Safari."

LesterMark v2.10.1

Polish release — no new features, bug fixes and UI cleanup only.

• Fixed: capturing the same photo via Share and via "Import from LesterMark Album" could create a duplicate Bookmark instead of being recognized as already-captured.
• Highlight Links and Link Text formatting settings are now also editable on iPhone (Settings), synced automatically with the same settings on Mac.
• iPhone Bookmark detail view: clearer "Copy Link" / "Copy Raw Link" button names; removed the "Paste Link into Obsidian" button (redundant, and implied a tighter Obsidian binding than the app actually has).
• Mac Settings: removed the redundant "Capture Reference" tab (same content is in the Help menu), fixed remaining Danish UI text, and renamed "Paste Link (from Bookmark)" to "Paste Link (to previous app)" for clarity.

Starting with this release, version numbers follow semantic versioning (MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH) — this is a PATCH release under 2.10.

• Chrome extension — a toolbar button for capturing the current page in Chrome, alongside the existing Safari one. Auto-registers its native messaging host on launch.
• iPhone: Trash view + Restore — a deleted Bookmark was previously only recoverable via Mac; now has its own Trash screen with swipe-to-restore.
• iPhone: Lens UI — saved Search/Type/Tags/Sort/Date combinations, reachable from a new Lens pill in the filter row. Save, rename, and delete Lenses from Settings → Lenses.
• iPhone: Copy Bookmark (Link) — copies the bare lestermark:// link, alongside the existing markdown-wrapped copy.
• iPhone: YouTube and Google Docs/Sheets/Slides detection — sharing a YouTube link now creates a real Video (or Video Moment, if shared with a timestamp) bookmark with the real title and channel name, instead of a generic Web link. Google Docs/Sheets/Slides get the correct type and title the same way.
• iPhone: Bear note capture — same Print > Share → automatic Mac-side backfill mechanism as Mail and Apple Notes: capture the printed note as a file, and it upgrades into a real, live Bear link once your Mac is reachable.
• iPhone: configurable Bookmark info lines — choose what shows in the Browse list (Standard/Compact/Detailed presets, or build your own).
• iPhone: "Show in Files" — a direct button to save a File/Word/PPTX/XLSX bookmark's local copy to the Files app, closing a real gap for PDFs specifically (previously no path to Files at all).
• Mac: Portable Export formats — File > Export… now offers Portable Export alongside the existing Full Backup: Netscape Bookmark HTML (Web-type Bookmarks, imports directly into Safari/Chrome/Firefox), a Markdown folder (one .md file per Bookmark with YAML frontmatter, drops straight into Obsidian/Bear/any markdown tool), and CSV/JSON. Tags and notes are included; only the relations graph, saved Lenses, and preview thumbnails are Full-Backup-only.

Fixed

• Safari extension wasn't appearing in Safari's own Extensions list at all.
• Safari extension's Open button didn't select or scroll to the bookmark in the Browser; added a missing Title/Note capture form; fixed a reveal-selection race and a stale-filter bug that could silently override it.
• Readest captures were missing the book title in the About column.
• "Show in LesterMark" now falls back to a generic window-title match instead of failing silently.

• IMDb capture — ⌃⌘C on a movie or TV show page (or a click from the new Safari extension) creates a real bookmark with poster, title, and type (Movie/TV Show) pulled from IMDb's own suggestion API, working around IMDb blocking ordinary page fetches.
• Safari Web Extension — a toolbar button in Safari for capturing the current page (or IMDb title) without the keyboard shortcut; shows whether the page is already captured, and can open the existing bookmark directly.
• Mail and Apple Notes capture from iPhone — neither app offers a direct Share Sheet option, so this goes through Print > Share: capture the printed PDF like any file, and the next time your Mac (with LesterMark running) is reachable, it automatically finds the matching email or note in the background and upgrades the bookmark into a real, live link — no action needed. A note that collides in title with another (a common problem — plenty of notes get named things like "Journal" or "Ideas") is disambiguated by comparing body content, not just title.
• Readwise Reader capture from iPhone — share a book from Reader the same direct way as Photos or Safari. Reader's own Share Sheet doesn't provide the book's title, so it defaults to a generic placeholder; an optional Readwise API token (Settings → Readwise Reader) fetches the real title automatically instead.
• Readest capture from iPhone — Page and Highlight both work via Readest's own per-note Copy button, then a manual clipboard capture in LesterMark (always a deliberate tap, never automatic, so a stale clipboard link is never captured by surprise).
• iPhone now has a real Help section — Quick Start, What Can I Capture?, Organizing & Finding, Editing Notes & Tags, Linking, Relations, Tips & Tricks, and Troubleshooting, reachable from its own toolbar icon. Previously the only iPhone-side explanation of anything was a short About popup.
• Onboarding example Bookmarks — a small set of example captures (one per major source) seeded on first launch, so the Bookmarks window isn't empty the moment you open it. Removable/re-addable from the Help menu.

Fixed

• Re-sharing an already-captured photo on iPhone created a duplicate bookmark instead of recognizing it — two separate bugs: a missing dedup identifier for matched-library photos, and a dimension-order mismatch for portrait photos (PDFKit/PhotoKit can report width/height transposed for the same photo). Re-sharing something already captured now reopens the same title/note screen to review or update it, instead of a dead-end "Already captured" message.
• iPhone's Open button did nothing for a captured Readwise Reader book — Reader's Share Sheet hands over an internal private:// link that nothing can open externally; now converted to the same wiseread:// scheme Mac's own capture already uses.

Under the hood

• LesterMark for iPhone (1.0, build 3) is in Apple's App Store review queue.
• iPhone declares the standard encryption exemption, so App Store Connect no longer prompts for it on every upload.

New

• iPhone photo capture, redesigned — sharing a photo from Photos or Safari on iPhone now matches it against your Photos library automatically (by timestamp and image dimensions), so Mac opens the exact same photo directly in Apple Photos, no copy needed. Capture always happens the same way — share the photo, choose LesterMark — nothing ever gets added to an album behind the scenes.
• Bulk photo import (Add to "LesterMark" Album) — for adding many existing photos at once, add them to a Photos album named "LesterMark" and LesterMark's iPhone app will import them next time it opens. A secondary option alongside normal Share-based capture, not a replacement for it.
• Edit Title & Note… — bookmark titles can now be edited after capture, not just the note, on both Mac and iPhone. The capture popup on Mac also shows the title upfront, pre-filled, instead of only after the fact.

Fixed

• Sharing a PDF from Safari's built-in PDF viewer ("This content type isn't supported yet.") — Safari's PDF viewer shares under a different type than a regular file link; now handled.
• Cancelling a capture popup on Mac no longer re-activates the Bookmarks window.
• The iPhone Share sheet's Close button now shows "Closing…" instead of appearing unresponsive while a capture finishes saving.
• Opening a Photo bookmark on iPhone could show a black screen or the wrong file type — Photos now open in a dedicated, native full-screen viewer with pinch-to-zoom.
• Bookmark Summary… is now also available from the app's File menu, not just the menu-bar icon's popup.

Under the hood

• The app's iCloud storage now lives in a properly LesterMark-named container (was still named PolyRelate under the hood since the July rebrand) — this happened automatically on this Mac and needed no action.
