Changes:

  • Oct. 2026 Android platform security patch
  • FM radio app:
    • Remove unnecessary permissions (NOTE: saved preferences and stations will be lost after updating)
    • Optional location detection for resetting location-specific station information for new scans after moving more than 100 miles
    • Remove log spam during Bluetooth playing
  • Keyboard PIN entry on lockscreen:
    • Fix QWERTZ/AZERTY mapping
    • Fix enter and delete keys sometimes not working
  • Settings/System/"Blackberry keyboard" renamed to "Blackberry settings", given top position and new icon, and add:
    • Legacy Blackberry apps page with Blackberry Keyboard and Blackberry Launcher install status and launching to Google Play app page
    • Host-side DT2W compatibility mode (for devices with FocalTech touch controllers only - increases DT2W reliability for some problematic units)
  • Fix downloads of dictionary/prediction databases for all languages in official Blackberry Keyboard app (ROM-side URL redirection to archive.org downloads)
  • USB-C screen mirroring: Allow audio routing to the connected display
  • "sym" key brings up virtual symbols page on default AOSP keyboard (LatinIME)
  • Change default settings with clean ROM install:
    • Disable showing virtual keyboard when typing
    • Reduce display size (3/7 in Settings/Display/Display size and text) to better match stock BB Android 8.1
    • Change keyboard and navigation button backlight timeouts to 10 seconds to match stock BB Android 8.1
  • Display sizes 1/7, 2/7, 3/7 rounded up (294->300, 336->340, 378->380; avoids old values falling just below some application layout thresholds)
  • Fix far-end voice echo during VOIP calls
  • Prevent BBF100-9 (Japanese single-SIM) devices being initialized as dual-SIM (not tested)

Update Instructions:

  • Perform an OTA update on your Key2 through Settings/System/System updates (the OTA update is downloaded from this Github Release page)
  • If you are currently running stock Blackberry Android 8.1, Krab-v1.1-v1.8, or an older LineageOS version, download "LOS22_Key2_ZKrab-v1.13a.zip" to your PC and follow this guide for install instructions: https://daphnis-past-midnight.nekoweb.org/wiki/key2.html
