@Lipton1010 Lipton1010 released this 19 Jul 14:26

This release expands GM Loot Prep with inherited notes and introduces a flexible currency-reference system, including optional weights for custom currencies.

GM Loot Prep Notes

GMs can now record where prepared loot is found.

  • Right-click a folder to add a note that applies to every item inside it.
  • Right-click an individual item to give it its own note.
  • Individual item notes take precedence over folder notes.
  • Clearing an individual note restores the inherited folder note.
  • Folder notes automatically apply to newly added items.
  • The green note icon on a folder can be clicked to edit its note.
  • Notes remain available after closing and reopening Foundry.

Selectable Reference Currency

Currency conversions no longer have to be based exclusively on GP.

  • Choose any converted built-in or custom currency as the reference currency.
  • Edit every other currency’s value against the selected reference.
  • The reference currency is fixed at one unit of itself.
  • Inventory equivalent totals use the selected reference currency.
  • Currency approval thresholds also use the selected reference currency.
  • Changing references automatically rebases exchange rates and the approval threshold without altering their economic value.
  • Reference currencies cannot be hidden or deleted.
  • Custom currencies without a conversion rate must be assigned one before they can become the reference.

Existing worlds default to GP as their reference currency. Existing custom conversions are migrated automatically without changing their effective GP values.

Custom Currency Weight

Custom currencies can now have an optional weight per unit.

  • A weight of zero makes the currency weightless.
  • Custom weights are included when Currency Counts Toward Weight is enabled.
  • Hidden currencies and staged GM Loot Prep currency do not count toward capacity.
  • Existing custom currencies migrate as weightless.
  • Built-in currencies remain fixed at the dnd5e standard of 50 coins per pound.

GM Loot Prep Improvements

  • Added a Manage Currencies shortcut directly to GM Loot Prep.
  • Hidden Loot controls now wrap cleanly at narrower window widths.
  • Improved access to folder-note editing without removing the existing right-click workflow.

Compatibility

  • Foundry Virtual Tabletop: v13 or newer
  • Verified with Foundry VTT v14.365
  • dnd5e system: v5.0.0 or newer
  • Verified with dnd5e v5.3.3

Upgrade Notes

Existing currency balances, visibility settings, tile images, and custom conversions are preserved during the upgrade.

A full Foundry restart is recommended after updating so the new scripts and templates are loaded.
