Version 2.5.0
This update expands Launch Curtain with Soundbites, iiDB and SteamGridDB artworks integration, a much more flexible curtain editor, and full backup and restore support. It also significantly speeds up bulk operations and improves PlayStation and Nintendo artwork selection, wide-image handling, and launch audio options.
What’s new
- Do you have Wii and Wii U nostalgia with those beautiful audio effects and jingles when a game starts? Well, the iiSU community did a majestic job and created a database of Soundbites. Now per-game Soundbites with iiDB search and download is supported in Launch Curtain, so as local file import, preview, per-game volume, global master volume, automatic exclusions and bulk assignment/removal.
- Added iiDB Assets as a new background source, combining Banners and Heroes with bulk download and removal.
- Added SteamGridDB Heroes as a new background source, using the user’s personal API key and displaying wide Hero artwork.
- Expanded the Curtain Editor so both backgrounds and logos can be repositioned and resized, including safe panoramic and portrait panning for non-16:9 artwork (so you can setup all the SteamGridDB Heroes as you prefer!)
- Added a complete Backup & Restore section to the QAM, with user-selected folders, portable backups of local files and automatic rollback protection during restore.
- Added unused Soundbite cleanup and additional safeguards for plugin-managed files.
Improvements
- Improved PlayStation bulk matching with smarter title, edition and product-type scoring, reducing incorrect matches with bundles, Deluxe editions or other nearby Store results.
- Improved Nintendo artwork quality by preferring official 1920x1080 assets when a safe matching version is available, while keeping European 1600x800 artwork as a fallback.
- Improved the background editor preview: native 16:9 artwork uses a clean full-screen preview, while panoramic and portrait images expose their extra source area for safe reframing without black edges.
- Improved Modern mode handoff with a visible fade to black before game focus, helping prevent Steam loading or spinner screens from flashing between the curtain and the game.
- Added confirmation dialogs before destructive removal and cleanup actions, together with several QAM layout, controller-navigation and provider presentation improvements.
A special thanks to the iiSU community.
