This update makes TrailerHero more reliable when moving between Steam Home and game pages, improves video recovery, and gives game logos a smoother entrance.
What’s new
- TrailerHero now distinguishes the actual Steam Library Home from a game page even while Steam is still using an outdated internal route.
- Game logos and Steam’s text-title fallback now always enter with a controlled fade after the trailer is ready.
Improvements
- Steam video playback can recover when one candidate becomes ready and then fails. (THIS is what caused many problems!)
- Stalled direct video URLs automatically move to the next candidate after a short timeout.
- HLS and DASH requests now use bounded timeouts instead of waiting indefinitely.
- Muted autoplay receives a second, short retry after a temporary rejection.
Fixes
- Trailers no longer appear on the Steam Library Home, even when a large focused-game hero is visible.
- Opening a game from Home now starts its trailer correctly, and returning to Home removes the trailer and assisted logo immediately.
- Valid game pages are no longer rejected simply because Steam is also rendering additional Library tiles.
- Logos no longer appear abruptly before their image has loaded.
- A stalled or broken Steam video can no longer leave the original hero waiting forever.
