LokiASAM v0.9.0 — Public Beta

LokiASAM is a desktop application for managing Ark Survival Ascended dedicated servers on Linux and Windows. It provides a full GUI for every aspect of running one or more ASA servers without needing to touch config files or the command line.

Features

  • Server management — create, start, stop, restart, and monitor multiple servers from a single dashboard. Live CPU/RAM stats and player counts update automatically.
  • Server configuration — edit GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini through an organized section editor, or drop into the raw text view for full control.
  • RCON console — built-in terminal with command history, preset commands, and broadcast support.
  • Live log viewer — tail server logs in real time with text filtering and auto-scroll.
  • Mods — browse CurseForge directly inside the app, add mods by ID, reorder, toggle, and install via SteamCMD with one click.
  • Backups — create, restore, and delete server backups; configurable retention with scheduled automatic backups.
  • Automation — schedule backups, updates, restarts, and broadcasts on a cron schedule with optional RCON warnings before restarts.
  • Clusters — group servers into clusters with shared player data directories.
  • Notifications — configurable desktop, Discord webhook, and email alerts for server started, stopped, crashed, and player join/leave events.
  • ASA server updates — shared SteamCMD cache keeps downloads fast when managing multiple servers; update cache and apply to servers independently.
  • Auto-update — the app checks for new LokiASAM releases and can download and install them without leaving the app.
  • Setup wizard — guided first-run experience that installs SteamCMD and Proton (Linux) automatically.

Bug fixes since initial development

  • AppImage: server start works correctly — the AppImage runtime was injecting its own Python environment into child processes, causing Proton to crash before Wine ran. The app now strips the AppImage environment before spawning server processes.
  • Server stuck in "Starting" after app restart — servers left in Starting state from a previous session are now correctly reset to Stopped on launch.
  • Start failure notifications include error output — the last lines of process output are now included in crash notifications so the cause is immediately visible.

Installation

Linux: Download the .AppImage from the assets below, make it executable, and run it.

./LokiASAM_0.9.0_amd64.AppImage

The AppImage receives automatic update notifications. The .deb package does not.

Windows: Download and run LokiASAM_0.9.0_x64-setup.exe from the assets below.

Notes

  • This is a public beta — bugs are expected. Please report them on the Issues page.
  • Linux requires a working Proton-GE installation for server processes. The setup wizard will guide you through this.
