Statusmith is a tray app for writing your own Discord Rich Presence — the "Playing …" card — with presets grouped by application, live variables, timers, rotation, and a signed in-app updater. It talks to the Discord client already running on your machine over its local pipe and never sees your account token. See the README for setup.

What's new in 0.4.0

Added

  • Music mode (Windows): its own source, like game mode. Reads the OS "now playing"
    (GlobalSystemMediaTransportControls), so any player that reports to Windows — Spotify,
    Tidal/Apple Music apps, a browser, foobar2000 — shows as "Listening to " with the artist
    as the state and a progress bar that tracks the real song position. Pick a headline application
    for the "Listening to …" line, and a While listening placement: take over the presence, or
    keep rotating (music joins the cycle) so the live track becomes one rotation stop alongside
    your presets. macOS/Linux show the panel but the toggle is a no-op there.
  • Music mode shows the album cover as the large image (looked up on iTunes' public search,
    cached per track) and the album name as its hover text, and asks Discord to put the song in
    your compact status line (status_display_type), so member lists read "Listening to Grenade"
    rather than the application's name. The wiki recommends an application named music so the
    card reads "Listening to music"; turning music mode on picks such an application automatically.
  • Follow live toggle under the preview: while on, the editor tracks whatever is on your
    profile — rotation moves to the next preset, the editor follows. Picking another preset by
    hand switches it off, and it never pulls you out of a field you're typing in.
  • The rotation menu lists the live game / track stops from "keep rotating" as rows tagged
    LIVE, each with its own ×N weight and ▲ ▼ position (remembered per source); the sidebar
    count reads "16 presets + 2 live".
  • 🔀 Shuffle in the rotation menu randomizes the order of everything in the cycle, live
    stops included.
  • One resolver behind both auto sources: a take-over game beats a take-over track, and either
    beats your manual status or rotation, while keep-rotating game/track sources ride along as
    rotation stops. Whatever was live before a take-over is remembered and restored when it ends, so
    game → music → nothing lands you back on your own status.

Already have Statusmith installed? It offers this version in-app (Install and restart); the update is verified against the signing key in the app before it runs. latest.json and the .sig files are what the updater reads — you don't need them.
