Troubleshooting
Kurenai doesn't have Accessibility permission. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility and switch Kurenai on. If it's already on, switch it off and on again. This can happen after replacing the app with a new version.
Probably Secure Input. While a password field is focused, macOS blocks shortcuts for every app. Some password managers leave it on by mistake. Kurenai shows a warning in its menu when this happens. Switching to another app or restarting the password manager usually fixes it.
Release the keys normally and wait a moment, Kurenai waits until Shift and C are up before copying. If an app still ignores it, please open an issue and say which app.
On a MacBook with a notch, extra icons can hide behind it. Shortcuts still work. Open Kurenai again from Spotlight or Applications and the settings window appears.
Download the zip again, unzip it with Finder (not a third party tool) and try once more.
Still stuck? Open an issue.
Remote desktop clients ignore modifier keys that don't come from a real keyboard, so Kurenai can't press Ctrl+V on the remote side for you. When one of these apps is in front, Kurenai puts the item on the clipboard and shows a short note: press Ctrl+V yourself. The paste queue works the same way: each Cmd+V puts the next item on the clipboard. Shift+Cmd+C waits up to 10 seconds for you to press Ctrl+C on the remote side, then splits what you copied into lines.
Clipboard sharing has to be on in the connection settings (in Windows App: edit the PC > Devices & Audio > Clipboard). If pasting still brings the old text, the connection is slow to sync: paste again after a second.
