v0.1.1
What's new
- Flatpak bundles for x86_64 and aarch64, beside the AppImages. Install with
flatpak install --user 8B-0.1.1-x86_64.flatpak. aarch64 is untested, as with the AppImage. The Flatpak cannot install the USB rule, so it shows the command to run yourself. - One permission screen in every build. It explains the block in plain words, shows the command with a Copy button, and has a Check again button.
- Reconnect fix for the Pro 3. If the pad keeps reconnecting while 8B is open, 8B offers two extra files that stop it. The access rule and this fix are now separate files (
70-8b.rulesand71-8b-keepalive.rules). - Plain error messages for failed reads and writes. The raw text goes to a log file at
$XDG_STATE_HOME/8b/8b.log. - Copy diagnostics in the sidebar footer and on error dialogs, for bug reports.
- CLI logging to stderr with
-vand-vv. - DInput back paddles can be set to PR, PL, L4 and R4, and a disabled paddle writes
00 00 00 00. - The AppImage now starts on a bare X11 host (bundled
libxkbcommon). read-macroreturns the same exit codes as the other commands, and--helpis fixed.- Under the hood: controller descriptions now declare modes, settings tabs and their own transport, so new pads can be added without editing the app. A guide to reverse engineering a controller is in the repo.
Upgrading
The app ID changed to io.github.LucasPicoli._8B, so a desktop launcher or task-bar pin made for 0.1.0 may need to be re-pinned.
