Fraglink 0.3.0-beta.3
[0.3.0-beta.3] - 2026-10-19
Added
- playfraglink.com is open to search engines. robots.txt allows crawling except private and signed-in pages (admin, API, settings, friends, sign-in and two-step, forgot, reset, verify, pairing, Steam sign-in) and links a sitemap. The sitemap is an index plus a pages file and profile files of 5,000 each. It lists only public profiles, never test accounts, private profiles, or accounts that are leaving or under age review. Private profiles and the sign-in and settings pages send noindex. Test, leaving and unknown names answer a 404 that looks the same. Public pages and profiles have a canonical address on https://playfraglink.com, a description and link-preview (Open Graph) tags with a new preview image. *.html addresses redirect to the clean URL. beta.playfraglink.com stays noindex with Disallow: /.
- Admin: "Unusual hours" alert. A single tracked session over 16 hours, or more than 20 hours a day on 3 or more days in a row, flags the account in Admin > Users (with a Clear button, logged in the audit) and emails staff (at most every 15 minutes, within the daily alert cap). Nothing is removed automatically: idle and away time count as played time. Test accounts and the owner account are left out.
- New privacy switch "Show connected account names" (on by default), on the website and in the app's Options > Privacy. When it's off, visitors still see your Steam, Battle.net and Discord icons with the verified tick, but not the account names or links. Your data export now includes your privacy switches.
- The two-step sign-in code screen tells you to email support@playfraglink.com if you've lost your authenticator and backup codes.
Changed
- Self-reported manual hour imports are disabled.
POST /api/v1/hours/importand the old server form/web/importanswer 410 Gone ("Manual hour imports are disabled.") and store nothing. Hours imported before stay on your profile, and you can still delete them. Steam import is unchanged. - Leaderboards count a game the same way your profile does: Top players this week, Most played this week and the per-game boards now include Imported hours (Steam, manual counters, later WoW /played). All time uses the profile total (the largest of app sessions, Steam and Imported, never added together). 7 days uses the larger of the week's sessions and how much an Imported counter grew this week, so a first import doesn't count as this week's play. The per-game boards also respect the Leaderboards switch and hidden games now.
- Imported hours: the import code now caps each game at 50,000 hours (before: about 40 years), ready for a future validated WoW addon import. A first import over 20,000 hours, or a counter that grew faster than 20 hours a day since the previous import, raises the Unusual hours admin alert. Nothing is removed automatically.
- Website: every column header in a profile's Games table sorts, including Total. Clicking the active column flips it between descending and ascending, the arrow shows the direction, and sorting happens on the server, across all pages. The note under the table is gone.
- App: in the friends list, the sort arrow now sits on whichever column is sorted (Name or Status) and flips with it.
- Privacy Policy v10 (19 October 2026): explains that a Steam account linked by signing in through Steam shows its public profile name, the new "Show connected account names" switch, and that the data export includes your privacy settings. Terms stay at v6.
- Website: the Miniprofile image is larger (1.25x) and centred; on your own profile the embed text and the Link, BBCode and HTML rows sit underneath it.
- Website: every form now posts to a safe fallback, and the sign-in, sign-up, two-step, forgot and reset buttons stay disabled until the page has loaded, so a form sent too early can never put a password or reset token in the address bar or server logs.
- Hours integrity: only the desktop app can report the game you're playing. The website's live connection (and any other sign-in) can still change your status, but a game sent from it is ignored, and it never ends a game the app is tracking. Game switches are capped at 6 a minute and 30 an hour per account (extra switches are ignored and logged).
- App: the My Account totals show the server's hours plus the session running now, instead of whichever of the server and this PC was higher. The local Today, This week and Top Games figures are labelled "this PC".
- Website: private profiles now have friend actions. Signed in, you can send a friend request (and cancel it) or accept theirs; signed out, "Sign in to add " brings you back to the profile after sign-in.
- Website: the profile Miniprofile box shows the embed text and the Link, BBCode and HTML copy rows only on your own profile. Visitors see just the image, linking to the profile.
Removed
- App: the Server field is gone from the login, Create Account and Options > Account sign-in. The app always signs in, signs up and pairs with https://playfraglink.com.
- The old session upload path:
POST /api/v1/sessions/uploadnow answers 410 Gone, and the app's upload queue code is gone (no 0.3.0 beta used it; the unused local columns stay so no app database migration is needed).
Fixed
- Website: game icons now show on public profiles for logged-out visitors (they showed letter tiles before).
- Website: after choosing a new password from a reset link, the page now says your password was changed (and that other sessions were signed out) with a Sign in button, instead of an empty box. Expired, used or missing reset links, and server or connection errors, now show a clear message.
Fraglink 0.3.0-beta.2
[0.3.0-beta.2] - 2026-10-19
Major features
- Date of birth at sign-up: Create Account now asks for your date of birth with Day, Month and Year dropdowns, like Discord. You need to be 13 or older to sign up. This also fixes creating new accounts from the app.
- Friend request badge: the Friends tab shows how many friend requests are waiting for you.
Added
- Friend requests now reach you by email if you've turned that on and confirmed your email address. Each email has a one-click link to turn them off.
Changed
- Announcement banners are centred, show up within about 2 minutes of being posted, and disappear as soon as they end.
- Under-18 accounts start with a private profile. You can switch to public after a short confirm (Cancel and Confirm equally weighted); you can switch back any time. When you turn 18 your profile keeps whatever setting you had.
- New accounts hide age on the profile by default (you can turn it on). Under-18 sign-ups also hide real name, gender and location by default.
- Your hours are now either tracked (by Fraglink or Steam) or imported from a game's own counter. The stats legend shows only Tracked and Imported.
- If you haven't used the app for 180 days, you'll need to sign in again.
Removed
- Estimated hours and the "Estimate your history" calculator.
Website
- Sign-up on playfraglink.com also asks for your date of birth.
- Friends lists on the website update live, and the Friends link shows a request badge.
- Privacy Policy v9 and Terms of Use v6 (19 October 2026): under-18 may go public; age hidden by default for new accounts.
- Country flags now load from playfraglink.com.
Fixed
- Privacy and Terms pages: markdown bullet lists render as real lists; inline code keeps surrounding spaces.
- Month dropdown on Create Account no longer clipped ("Mont").
Fraglink 0.3.0-beta.1
The first Fraglink beta. From now on releases are numbered 0.3.0-beta.1, 0.3.0-beta.2, and so on.
Major features
- Nicknames: pick the name your friends see and change it any time; your @username stays the same.
- New profiles and website: profile pages with your games and hours, profile pictures, and a refreshed playfraglink.com.
- Linked accounts: connect Steam, Battle.net and Discord from the app or the website.
- Privacy in sync: the same privacy switches in the app and on the website, so changing one changes both.
- Steam-sized pop-ups: bigger, cleaner notifications when friends come online or start a game.
- Announcement banner: news from the Fraglink team shows under the app's header.
- Groups like Steam: friends in your own groups still show under Friends Online, and groups show who's on.
Added
- Announcements now show as a slim banner under the header. Click it to open the link, or × to hide it.
Changed
- Friends you put in your own groups still show under Friends Online when they're on.
- Your groups show how many are online out of everyone in them, e.g. (2/5).
- Your own status shows just the game icon and name while you play.
- Hovering a friend shows their nickname with their @username next to it.
Fixed
- Updates now move cleanly from the earlier test builds to the beta.
Fraglink 0.2.0-dev.21
Added
- Linked accounts in the app: Options > Connections now shows your Steam, Battle.net and Discord links. Connect opens your browser to that service's sign-in page, and the app shows the linked name with a Disconnect button. Spotify is still coming soon.
- Same privacy switches in the app and on the website: Options > Privacy has every "show on my profile" switch from the website (private profile, Now Playing, games and hours, activity, friends, achievements, top players, gaming rig, previous nicknames and personal details). A change in one place shows in the other.
- A "When someone sends me a friend request" pop-up switch, shared with the website's notification settings, as is "a friend comes online or starts a game".
- Options > Account links to the website for your profile picture, two-step sign-in, signed-in devices and email notifications, and shows whether two-step sign-in is on. Options > Connections links to downloading your account data.
Changed
- Bigger pop-ups: the bottom-right pop-ups are now the same size as Steam's (283 × 70, a little taller for long game names) with a larger picture or game icon and easier-to-read text. They grow with Windows display scaling.
- Your game's icon in your status: while you play, the game's small icon sits right before "Playing …" next to your name.
- Website: long lists (games on a profile, played games, friends) load a page at a time with search and sorting.
Not tested on Windows yet
- Checked in a browser preview and against the live server. Please check on Windows.
Install
- Installed dev.20 clients pick this up by themselves (at startup or within an hour). Otherwise run
Fraglink_0.2.0-21_x64-setup.exe. The MSI is for managed installs. Both are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen asks first: click More info → Run anyway. latest.jsonand the.sigfile are the update manifest and signature that the built-in updater uses.
Fraglink 0.2.0-dev.20
Added
- Nicknames: your username is your permanent sign-in name and profile address; your nickname is the name everyone sees, in the friends list, side panel, pop-ups, activity, on the website and on your signature image. Change it by clicking your own name in the app, in Options > Account, or in Settings on the website (up to 32 characters, 3 changes a day in total; it can't be someone else's name or look like staff). The side panel shows the @username under the nickname, and people can find you by either name.
- A new profile page on the website: a cleaner layout with more details you choose to share, achievements, recent activity, a small profile card you can embed elsewhere, and a way to report a profile.
- Linked accounts: connect your Steam account in your website settings so it shows on your profile.
- Picture cropping: when you upload a profile picture you can position and crop it first.
Changed
- One look: the Classic Silver skin is gone and everyone uses the dark look. Tools > Skin is removed; the accent colour under Tools > Theme stays.
- Friends list back to the classic look: a friend's game icon sits in front of their name while they play (a blank space otherwise). Pictures stay in the side panel, next to your own name and in pop-ups.
- Tidier wording throughout: the tray says "Sign Out" like the main menu, Help > Contents covers the newer features, and the unused "Music Status (coming soon)" entry is gone.
Fixed
- Hovering a friend or a button showed two tooltips at once; now there's only one, and cut-off text shows in full there.
- Some menu items were missing a space ("Check forUpdates", "Always onTop", "SignOut").
- Long side panel headings such as "Friends of Friends Playing" wrap instead of being cut off.
Not tested on Windows yet
- Checked in a browser preview and against the live server. Please check on Windows.
Install
- Installed dev.19 clients pick this up by themselves (at startup or within an hour). Otherwise run
Fraglink_0.2.0-20_x64-setup.exe. The MSI is for managed installs. Both are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen asks first: click More info → Run anyway. latest.jsonand the.sigfile are the update manifest and signature that the built-in updater uses.
Fraglink 0.2.0-dev.19
Added
- Profile pictures: upload a picture on the website (or pick one of the presets). It shows on your profile and around the site, and in the app: in the friends list, at the top of a friend's side panel, next to your own name and in pop-ups ("is now playing" shows the game with a small picture in its corner). No picture? You get the Fraglink mark on a colour. Pictures are kept on your PC, and a new one shows as soon as it's changed.
- Two-step sign-in: turn on an authenticator app code in your website settings, with backup codes in case you lose your phone. The app asks for the code (or a backup code) when you sign in.
- A fresh website: a live home page, a new profile page, settings split into tabs, an optional forum signature image, a copy of your data to download, and account deletion (with 7 days to change your mind). You're told by email about new sign-ins once email is switched on, and you can see and sign out your other sessions.
- Privacy controls: profiles are public by default, and you choose what others see: what you're playing now, your games, your activity, your friends, your PC specs, your details and whether you appear on leaderboards, or make the whole profile private.
Fixed
- A game renamed on the website now shows its new name in the app even when it was added from a player's suggestion.
Changed
- Friends' activity grouped per game per day: the app's Activity Report and the website show "played World of Warcraft for 3h today" instead of one line per session.
- Game pictures on the website come from the game's store art where there is some, with a tidy fallback.
- Dark menus: in the dark skin, the Fraglink, Tools and Help menus are dark grey with a blue highlight, like the right-click menu.
- Resizable friends list columns: drag the dividers between Name, Status and Game Info. Your widths are remembered; double-click a divider to reset them. Text that doesn't fit ends in "…"; hover to see all of it.
- Group headings explain themselves: click Friends of Friends Playing, Friend Requests or Friends Offline to see a short description in the side panel. Fold a group with its arrow or by double-clicking the heading.
Not tested on Windows yet
- Checked end to end against the live server and in a browser preview. Please check on Windows.
Install
- Installed dev.18 clients pick this up by themselves (at startup or within an hour). Otherwise run
Fraglink_0.2.0-19_x64-setup.exe. The MSI is for managed installs. Both are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen asks first: click More info → Run anyway. latest.jsonand the.sigfile are the update manifest and signature that the built-in updater uses.
v0.2.0-dev.18
Pre-release for testing. Builds report 0.2.0-18. Installed dev.17 clients update to this build automatically.
Added
- Already friends? Add Friend search results now show "Already friends" or "Request sent", and if someone has already asked you, the button says Accept.
Changed
- Smoother pop-ups: notifications are now a single dark rounded box that slides in and fades out, laid out like Steam's: the name, what happened ("is now playing", "played 1h 33m of"), then the game on its own line. Long game names show in full instead of being cut off. The close button appears when you hover.
- Bigger Add Friend window: easier to read, with a taller results list and a darker background behind it.
- Side panel fits the window better: the info panel now sits neatly inside the main window's height instead of running edge to edge.
- WoW realm hidden for now: realm names weren't always right, so they're switched off until they're reliable.
Fixed
- Add Friend now always responds: after you click Add Friend you see "Friend request sent", or a clear message if something went wrong. Before, nothing seemed to happen.
- Renamed games update in the app: when we rename a game, the new name now shows in the app (your status, Activity, Stats and your games list) without needing an update.
Not tested on Windows yet
- Tested on Linux and in a browser preview only. Please check on Windows.
Install
- Installed dev.17 clients pick this up by themselves (at startup or within an hour). Otherwise run
Fraglink_0.2.0-18_x64-setup.exe. The MSI is for managed installs. Both are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen asks first: click More info → Run anyway. latest.jsonand the.sigfile are the update manifest and signature that the built-in updater uses.
Fraglink 0.2.0-dev.17
Pre-release for testing. Builds report 0.2.0-17. Installed dev.16 clients update to this build automatically.
Changed
- Add Friend is a small pop-up window over your friends list instead of a separate page: search box, results table, personal message, and View Profile / Add Friend. Enter searches and Esc closes it. Searching for yourself says "That's you!".
- Friend search finds part of a name: "doe" now finds "Jo Doe" or "johndoe", not just names that start with what you typed. Exact matches are listed first.
- Shorter friend side panel: a header, what they're playing (with the WoW realm and a live "Playing for" timer) and their hours this week and in total, then View Profile.
- Dark pop-up notifications: "logged on", "started playing" and friend request pop-ups now match the dark look, with the game icon or the friend's initial, one line of text, and the WoW realm when known.
- Your status uses the whole row, so "Playing World of Warcraft: Forever" fits in full at the normal window size; hover for the full text when it doesn't. Side panel headings no longer get cut off.
- Realm on its own line: the friend side panel and tooltip show the WoW realm on a separate Realm row, and hovering your own status shows yours.
Not tested on Windows yet

Install
- Installed dev.16 clients pick this up by themselves (at startup or within an hour). Otherwise run
Fraglink_0.2.0-17_x64-setup.exe. The MSI is for managed installs. Both are unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen asks first: click More info → Run anyway. latest.jsonand the.sigfile are the update manifest and signature that the built-in updater uses.
Fraglink 0.2.0-dev.16
Pre-release for testing. Builds report 0.2.0-16. Installed dev.15 clients update to this build automatically.
Changed
- One-click install: the setup asks no questions. There is no wizard and no admin prompt. A small dark Fraglink window shows "Installing Fraglink…" with a progress bar, then Fraglink opens at its sign-in screen. It installs for your Windows user only, into
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Fraglink, and adds Desktop and Start menu shortcuts. Running it again updates the install in place. Uninstall works from Windows Apps & features as before. - Updates use the same window ("Updating Fraglink…") and restart Fraglink by themselves.
- Your games, not every game: Options > Games lists only your installed games, plus games you played on this PC before. The long "Not installed" list is gone. A new sort menu (A–Z, Most played, Recently played) remembers your choice.
- Scan for games: on first start Fraglink checks your game folders once, in the background at low priority. It looks in
Gamesfolders on every fixed drive, game folders under Program Files and your launchers' library folders, and adds the games it recognises to Installed games. The Scan for games button in Options > Games runs it again. It only reads file and folder names, skips Windows and system folders, and ignores launchers and test builds. The results stay on your PC. - Star Citizen shows as installed when the RSI Launcher installed it. Launch opens the RSI Launcher. Its icon is now the official Star Citizen emblem.
- Missing a game? A hint under the games list says what to do: launch the game once, or click Scan for games.
- Announcements: while you're signed in, a message from the Fraglink team shows once as a small notification. Click it to open its link.
- The MSI (for managed installs) is unchanged.
Not tested on Windows yet

Fraglink 0.2.0-dev.15
Pre-release for testing. Builds report 0.2.0-15. Installed dev.14 clients update to this build automatically.
Changed
- Sharper, official game icons: every game now shows its official icon, crisp at every size. The Fraglink server provides them from our own site, so the app never downloads images from anywhere else.
- Steam games without their own icon in the games list use their official Steam icon.
- Games we don't have an icon for use the icon from the game's own program on your PC (read locally, never uploaded), otherwise a neutral game symbol.
- Fresh start for icons: old cached icons are cleared once after the update, so every game picks up its new one.
