ForzaHorizonRecomp v0.1 — Initial Release

⚠️ Experimental / proof-of-concept stage. This release contains only the source code used for the first static recompilation tests of Forza Horizon (Xbox 360) with [XenonRecomp](https://github.com/hedge-dev/XenonRecomp). Not a playable game.

What's included

  • XenonRecomp build configuration for Forza Horizon
  • Scripts/config (config.toml) for jump table extraction and initial C++ code generation from default.xex
  • Build process documentation (README)

What's NOT included

  • ❌ Graphics runtime (Direct3D 9 → Vulkan/OpenGL) — not implemented
  • ❌ Audio, input, filesystem — not implemented
  • ❌ Working/playable build
  • ❌ Original game files (you need a legitimate copy of Forza Horizon)

Known status

The generated C++ code still has unrecognized instructions at several addresses (expected at this stage, since XenonRecomp's jump table and function boundary detection was built around Sonic Unleashed). Manually mapping these cases for Forza Horizon is still in progress.

How to use

See the [README](../README.md) for full build and code generation instructions.

Legal notice

This project does not distribute any files from the original game. You must own a legitimate copy of Forza Horizon. Unofficial project, not affiliated with Microsoft, Turn 10 Studios, or Playground Games.

v0.1.1-alpha — Initial Recompilation Progress

Choose a tag to compare

@Luiz3du Luiz3du released this 23 Aug 22:22

v0.1.1-alpha

First public release of the Forza Horizon Xbox 360 recompilation project.

What has already been achieved

  • XenonRecomp successfully compiled on Windows.
  • XenonAnalyse successfully compiled.
  • Initial project configuration created.
  • default.xex configured as the recompilation input.
  • Recompiled PowerPC code generated.
  • ppc_recomp.*.cpp files generated.
  • A large number of PowerPC functions identified and mapped.

Current status

🚧 Not playable yet.

The recompilation currently stops when it encounters some PowerPC routines whose address was not specified:

  • __savegprlr_14
  • __restgprlr_14
  • __savefpr_14
  • __restfpr_14
  • __savevmx_14
  • __restvmx_14
  • __savevmx_64
  • __restvmx_64

These routines will be investigated and handled in upcoming versions.

Next objectives

  1. Resolve the remaining PowerPC routines.
  2. Complete the generation of the recompiled code.
  3. Compile the generated code.
  4. Generate the first native executable.
  5. Test game initialization.
  6. Work on graphics, audio, controls, and compatibility.

Notice

This is an experimental version and does not represent a playable or final version.

Proprietary game files are not included in this release.
