Distributed Quantum Compiler

A quantum circuit compiler that optimizes qubit placement across multiple QPUs. Based on Generalised Circuit Partitioning for Distributed Quantum Computing by Burt, Chen, Leung.

Quick Start

from src import compile

# Compile a QASM circuit
compiled_circuit, network_map = compile("tests/circuits/test0.qasm", qpu_size=5)

# The returned circuit includes teleportation and remote gate placeholders
print(compiled_circuit)
# The network_map describes per-layer logical→QPU and logical→physical assignment
print(network_map)

With Custom Parameters

from src import compile

compiled_circuit, network_map = compile(
    "circuit.qasm",
    qpu_size=5,
    population_size=100,
    num_gens=200,
    temperature=1.0,
    verbose=True
)

Run Tests

Test the compiler on all example circuits:

python -m tests.test_partition
# or
PYTHONPATH=. python tests/test_partition.py

Tune Parameters

Run hyperparameter optimization:

python tune_params.py --trials 50
# By default, uses QASM files in `tests/circuits`
# To point elsewhere: python tune_params.py --root path/to/qasm_dir --trials 50
