PanVK RC3 Safety v2 - Strato Mali / Lemon / Eden
PanVK RC3 Safety v2 — Switch emulators 🫐
Experimental Android/Bionic PanVK Kbase driver built from zenithblue-oss RC3 (exact tagged commit fd6ed91eff1c8d3a83307a2348b959bb93797011; Mesa 5a07217f034b3e50d8c7c7794f97a2df1742613b) plus the previously developed LukeValen Android Switch/Safety v2 overlay.
Install the correct package
- Strato Mali:
PanVK-RC3-Strato-Mali-SAFETY-v2.zip - Lemon:
PanVK-RC3-Lemon-SAFETY-v2.zip - Eden:
PanVK-RC3-Eden-SAFETY-v2.zip
The three archives use the same Android ARM64 driver binary but contain installer-specific meta.json. Each ZIP contains meta.json and libvulkan_panfrost.so at archive root. These are custom GPU drivers, not emulator APKs. Do not import an outer Actions artifact ZIP.
Compatibility fixes carried over
- MediaTek Android Native Buffer / Vulkan
VkNativeBufferANDROID: search all native-handle FDs for an importable DMA-BUF, instead of assumingdata[0]. - Kbase native-buffer release: disable DRM syncobj payload copying on Kbase and use
QueueWaitIdle/ already completed fence-1for Android release, bypassing the experimental KCPUSYNC_FDexport for this path. - Switch-friendly Kbase sync safety:
PANVK_KBASE_GPU_SEMAPHORE_WAITSOFF by default, falling back to CPU semaphore waits instead of potentially cyclic cross-CSF-subqueue GPU waits. This is a stability tradeoff and reduces concurrency. Other GPU internal synchronization still operates. - Preserve 64-bit command-stream GPU virtual addresses.
All qualified RC3 upstream patches are applied first. The overlay fails closed on source drift; a successful build and archive validation are necessary before publication.
Safety and testing
Pre-release; not guaranteed crash/deadlock free. Earlier RC2 experiments caused GPU faults and a kernel panic on a Poco X6 Pro. These fallbacks target observed failure paths but have not been validated in-game on RC3 for any of these emulators. Back up important data, retain the system GPU driver, and report device model, GPU, kernel UAPI and logcat/dmesg for regressions.

PanVK G615 RC2 Safety v2 - Strato Mali
PanVK G615 — RC2 Safety v2 for Strato Mali 🫐
Experimental Vulkan driver adapted for Strato Mali on Mali-G615 MC6 / Kbase CSF (Valhall v11).
This build uses the exact same compiled libvulkan_panfrost.so as the Lemon Lite RC2 Safety v2 release. Only the ZIP metadata and package name were adapted to Strato Mali's stricter GPU-driver installer. It does not contain or modify the Strato Mali emulator APK.
Fixes carried over from RC2 Safety v2
- Improved Android Native Buffer / MediaTek DMA-BUF discovery and import.
- Avoided DRM syncobj payload-copy handling on Kbase.
- Conservative Android native-buffer release synchronization instead of experimental KCPU SYNC_FD exports.
- Disabled cross-subqueue GPU semaphore waits by default.
- Fixed truncated 64-bit GPU command-stream addresses.
Strato Mali package
- Download:
PanVK-RC2-Strato-Mali-SAFETY-v2.zip - Contents:
meta.jsonandlibvulkan_panfrost.soat ZIP root. - Metadata: Strato-compatible schema version 1 with only its supported fields.
- Minimum Android API: 35
- Device target: Poco X6 Pro, MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra, Mali-G615 MC6.
- Status: Package structure verified; Strato Mali import and in-game stability have not yet been independently confirmed.
Important warning
An earlier RC2 test driver triggered a GPU CS_BUS_FAULT, a KCPU fence timeout, and a kernel panic on the reference device. RC2 Safety v2 includes fixes for several known hazardous paths, and the user reported recovery in Lemon Lite, but Strato Mali is a different emulator and this ZIP is experimental. Be prepared to revert to the system GPU driver; no guarantee of stability is implied.
Install
In Strato Mali, open Settings → GPU Driver → Install, select the ZIP above, and choose PanVK RC2 G615 Strato Mali Safety v2 after import. Do not import the GitHub Actions outer ZIP.

PanVK G615 RC2 Safety v2 - Lemon Lite
PanVK Mali-G615 — RC2 Safety v2 (Lemon Lite / Switch)
Experimental PanVK Vulkan driver for Mali-G615 MC6, built from the upstream 0.1.0-rc2 tag, with the Android/Kbase safety fixes from LukeValen's Switch-emulator fork.
Changes
- Fixed Android Native Buffer (ANB) DMA-BUF selection on MediaTek gralloc, addressing
VK_ERROR_INVALID_EXTERNAL_HANDLEduring Vulkan initialization. - Bypassed DRM syncobj payload-copy logic on Kbase.
- Added conservative Android release synchronization (QueueWaitIdle + release fence -1), avoiding the experimental KCPU SYNC_FD exporter for this build.
- Disabled Kbase cross-subqueue GPU semaphore waits by default to avoid a previously observed circular wait.
- Preserved full 64-bit GPU CS call addresses, preventing address truncation above 4 GiB.
- Packed as a flat ZIP for Lemon Lite:
meta.jsonandlibvulkan_panfrost.soare at archive root (not ZIP-in-ZIP).
Compatibility / status
- Reference device: Poco X6 Pro — Dimensity 8300 Ultra (MT6897), Mali-G615 MC6, Android 16, Kbase CSF at
/dev/mali0. - Application: Lemon Lite (Eden fork) with custom Mali Vulkan driver loading.
- Validation: Celeste was reported to launch successfully with Safety v2 on the reference device. Other titles, GPUs and devices have not been comprehensively validated.
- Important: The previous RC2 ANB-fix build caused a whole-device kernel panic during GPU execution (CS_BUS_FAULT followed by KCPU FENCE_SIGNAL timeout). Safety v2 addresses known risky paths but is not guaranteed to eliminate all driver- or kernel-level faults. Back up your data, and revert to the stock Mali driver if you encounter instability.
Installation
- Download PanVK-RC2-Lemon-SAFETY-v2.zip from this release.
- In Lemon Lite, open GPU Driver Manager, install the ZIP and select PanVK RC2 G615 Lemon Safety v2.
- Restart Lemon Lite. Keep the system driver available as a fallback.
Do not install the GitHub Actions artifact's outer ZIP in Lemon. Use the flat driver ZIP attached directly to this release.
Source and integrity
- Release tag tracks the
lemon-rc2-bufferfixsource branch used by the successful GitHub Actions build. - GitHub Actions run: https://github.com/LukeValen/panvk-kbase-android/actions/runs/37955006779
- A checksum file for the attached driver ZIP is provided as an asset.
