Nexus v1.1.2

@LunoviaVR LunoviaVR released this 18 Oct 14:15

Nexus v1.1.2

🛠️ Improved

  • Faster, more reliable updates. Nexus now downloads updates from its own update server on Cloudflare. If that server can't be reached, it falls back to GitHub automatically, so you always get updates either way. Every update is still signed and checked by Nexus before it installs.

Nexus v1.1.1

🛠️ Improved

  • Gentler on VRChat's servers. When several parts of Nexus ask VRChat for the same thing at the same moment, it's now fetched once and shared. You'll run into VRChat's "too many requests" limit less often.
  • No knocking on closed doors. When VRChat says a world, user, group or instance doesn't exist or is private, Nexus remembers that for 15 minutes instead of asking again. Joining a group, accepting a friend or making any other change clears that memory, so you never see an outdated answer.
  • Expired sessions are handled cleanly. When your VRChat session expires, Nexus stops sending requests and signs you back in with your saved login. If you didn't save your login, it asks you to sign in once, instead of letting every page fail one at a time.
  • Group instances are checked less often. The open group-instance list now refreshes every 5 minutes instead of every 2. If VRChat asks Nexus to slow down, it keeps showing the last list and tries again 2 minutes later, instead of showing an error.
  • Smoother live updates. Reconnecting to VRChat's live feed starts at a calmer pace, and the catch-up after a reconnect happens quietly in the background. Duplicate events VRChat sometimes sends are now ignored.

Nexus v1.1.0

@LunoviaVR LunoviaVR released this 12 Oct 14:31

Nexus v1.1.0

🛠️ Improved

  • Your theme and accent color stick. Nexus now saves them in its own encrypted database the moment you pick them, so they're still there after you quit Nexus, restart your PC or shut it down. Before, they could be lost if Nexus closed soon after you changed them.
  • Accent colors in rainbow order. Settings → Appearance → Accent color now goes Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, and hovering a color shows its name. If you'd picked a color that's no longer in the list, Nexus switches you to the closest one.

Nexus v1.0.10

@LunoviaVR LunoviaVR released this 12 Oct 14:12

Nexus v1.0.10

✨ New

  • What's new, inside Nexus. The new megaphone next to the bell in the top bar opens the release notes for every version of Nexus, so you can see what changed without leaving the app. After Nexus updates, it shows you what's new once, the first time it opens. You can also find them in Settings → Updates → Release notes, or by typing What's new in Ctrl + K.
  • OLED theme. Settings → Appearance → Theme → OLED turns the whole app true black, so OLED screens switch those pixels off. Your accent color carries over.
  • VRChat's status in the top bar. Where it used to say Live, Nexus now shows VRChat's own service status from status.vrchat.com. It says Stable when everything works. When VRChat reports a problem, it changes color and says what's going on: Degraded, Partial outage, Major outage or Maintenance. Hover it to see the incident and which services are affected, and click it to open VRChat's status page. Nexus checks once a minute while it's on screen. Whether Nexus's own live updates are connected, which Live used to show, is in the same hover.

🛠️ Fixed

  • The "Connecting to VRChat…" message while Nexus starts no longer shows garbled characters.

Nexus v1.0.9

@LunoviaVR LunoviaVR released this 11 Oct 18:52

Nexus v1.0.9

✨ New

  • Start an instance from any world. Open a world and click New instance next to its list of instances. Choose who can join:

    • Public, Friends+, Friends, Invite+ or Invite.
    • Group, for an instance owned by one of your groups. Nexus lists only the groups whose role lets you open instances, with the ones you own first. Then you set the same things as in a group's Owner tools: members only, Group+ or Group Public, limiting it to certain roles, a queue, and 18+.

    It opens in the region you're in now, and you can pick another. Your new instance shows at the top of the world's list, highlighted, with Join and Invite me right there. Next time, Nexus starts on the type and group you used last.

Nexus v1.0.8

@LunoviaVR LunoviaVR released this 11 Oct 18:15

Nexus v1.0.8

✨ New

  • Owned groups. The Groups page and every profile's Groups tab have an Owned filter, and groups someone owns get an Owner badge. Profiles also list the groups that person owns right on their overview. VRChat only shares the groups people show publicly on their profile, so a group someone keeps hidden won't appear.
  • Run your groups from Nexus. Open a group you own and the new Owner tools let you:
    • Edit the group: name, description, rules, links, languages, who can join, and its icon and banner. Pick them from your VRC+ icons and gallery, or upload a new one right there.
    • Post announcements to members or to everyone, only to certain roles if you like, with or without a notification. Old posts can be deleted.
    • Open group instances in any world (recent, favorites, your own, a search, or a pasted world link) with the access, region, queue and 18+ settings you want, and close them, optionally sending everyone inside home.
    • Answer join requests: accept, decline, or decline and block. The Members tab shows how many people are waiting.
    • Manage members: see each member's roles and everything those roles allow, give or take roles, and kick or ban people. Banned people are listed with an Unban button.
  • Moderators get the parts they're allowed to use. If your role in someone else's group can, say, manage posts or bans, those tools show up for you too.
  • Mute, hide, block and unfriend from a profile. The new More button on anyone's profile lets you mute their voice or chatbox, hide their avatar, block them, or unfriend them. It all applies in VRChat too: VRChat loads these settings when it starts, so restart it if it's open. Hidden avatars are saved straight into VRChat's own settings on your PC, the same place VRChat keeps them. Their profile shows what you've set (for example Voice muted or Blocked), and unfriending or blocking asks you first. When you unfriend or block someone yourself, Nexus no longer pops up a "no longer your friend" alert about it.

🛠️ Improved

  • Kicking, banning or accepting someone updates the group's member count right away.

🛠️ Fixed

  • Group owners no longer see a Leave button on their own group, which VRChat doesn't allow.

Nexus v1.0.7

Choose a tag to compare

@LunoviaVR LunoviaVR released this 11 Oct 14:50

Nexus v1.0.7

✨ New

  • Pictures for everyone on the Players page. People who aren't your friends now show their profile picture instead of a letter, along with their trust rank, and so do you. Nexus remembers anyone it has already seen (your friends list, profiles you opened, searches, group member lists) and quietly looks up the rest in the background, so in a busy instance the pictures fill in over a few seconds.
  • Pictures in the Game Log. Open a past session and everyone who was there gets their picture too, not only your friends. Very old log entries didn't record who someone was, so those still show a letter.

🛠️ Improved

  • Smoother around VRChat's limits. Nexus now paces everything it asks VRChat for, so it stays quick without getting your account slowed down:
    • What you click (invites, boops, edits, favorites) always goes first, then whatever you're looking at. Nexus' own background work, like bio checks, pictures and world names, only uses the room that's left.
    • Quick bursts, like opening a profile, go straight through.
    • If VRChat asks Nexus to slow down, everything pauses for as long as VRChat asks, then carries on a little slower for a few minutes. Instead of a spinner that never ends, you see how long to wait, for example Try again in about 10 seconds.
    • Pictures load on their own track, so a page full of them never holds anything else up. A picture that didn't load tries again a little later.
  • Live updates don't stall. Friend updates no longer wait on looking up a world's name, and a shaky connection no longer reloads your whole friends list every few seconds.
  • Group member search waits until you stop typing instead of searching on every letter.
  • "Most online" group sort loads its counts in the background, so you can keep browsing while it fills in.

🛠️ Fixed

  • Staying signed in. If VRChat was busy or limiting requests when Nexus started, Nexus could sign you out. Now it only asks you to sign in again when your session has really ended.
  • Platform filters in Discover. Turning a platform off now hides every avatar that has a version for it, instead of only taking its tag off the card. For example, turn off Quest and iOS to see PC-only avatars.

Nexus v1.0.6

Choose a tag to compare

@LunoviaVR LunoviaVR released this 11 Oct 06:06

Nexus v1.0.6

✨ New

  • See who opened an instance. Instances in a world's page now show their owner, or the group for group instances. Click the name to open their profile or the group. Public instances don't have an owner, so they show none.
  • More on where friends are. The Right now card on a profile shows how many people are in that instance (for example 14/32) and who opened it. On your own profile the count comes straight from your game log, so it's always current.
  • Instance owner on Discord. With Show what you're playing on, your Discord status now says whose instance you're in, for example Friends+ · Hosted by Kitsune · Europe. Private instances you've chosen to hide still only say you're in a private instance.

🛠️ Fixed

  • Removing favorites. If you had more than 100 favorite avatars, some of them showed Favorite instead of the list they're in, so you couldn't remove them. Nexus now loads all of your favorites. If it can't load them, it says so and offers Try again instead of offering to add the avatar again.
  • Favorite friends. The same limit could leave stars off some favorite friends. All of them show up now.
  • Clearing an avatar search. In Avatars → Discover, emptying the search box now clears the results instead of leaving the last search on screen.
  • Platform filters in Discover. PC, Quest and iOS now start switched on. Turn one off to hide avatars you could only use on that platform. Its tags also come off the result cards, and the performance filter only looks at the platforms you have on.

Nexus v1.0.5

@LunoviaVR LunoviaVR released this 11 Oct 05:37

Nexus v1.0.5

✨ New

  • Show what you're playing on Discord. Turn on Settings → Discord → Show what you're playing and your Discord profile shows the world you're in, with its picture and creator, the instance type and region, how many people are there, and how long you've been in it. It follows you from world to world and clears a few seconds after you quit VRChat. It's off until you turn it on, and it needs the Discord desktop app.
    • Hide private instances (on by default): in Invite, Invite+ and group-only instances, Discord only says you're in a private instance.
    • Join button (off by default): lets people open your instance in VRChat straight from your Discord profile. It's never shown for instances that need an invite. Discord doesn't show your own buttons to you, so ask a friend to check it.
    • The switch shows what Discord is displaying right now, or why it isn't, for example when Discord isn't running.

Nexus passes your activity to the Discord app on your PC, and Discord shows it on your profile. Nothing else is shared, and nothing leaves your PC while the switch is off.

Nexus v1.0.4

✨ Improved

  • See more from a world's creator. In a world's details, the creator's name ("by …") is now a link. Click it to open their profile straight on the Worlds tab, with all of their public worlds to search and sort. Close the profile to go back to the world.
