Changes

  • Rewrote fix to use Safetyhook and hopefully make it more resistant to game updates.
  • Rewrote aspect ratio fix to be more simple.
  • Updated everything to hopefully work with the Steam release.

Installation

  • Download the file marked DeadIsland2Fix_v1.0.3.zip from the "Assets" section below.
  • Extract the contents of the release zip in to the the game folder.
    (e.g. "steamapps\common\Dead Island 2" for Steam).

Steam Deck/Linux Additional Instructions

🚩You do not need to do this if you are using Windows!

  • Open up the game properties in Steam and add WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dsound=n,b" %command% to the launch options.

Configuration

  • See DeadIsland2Fix.ini to adjust settings for the fix.
