The macOS build is arm64 only. It does not run on an Intel Mac — Rosetta 2
translates Intel binaries for Apple Silicon, not the reverse. An Intel build is
coming in the next release; earlier notes claimed Rosetta covered this and were
wrong.
From 1.2.0 onwards you only need to download once: Settings → Advanced → Updates
installs later versions in place, checked only when you ask and verified against
autostand's own signing key. The extra .app.tar.gz, .sig and latest.json
assets are what that reads — not things to download.
The bundles are unsigned. macOS reports that the app is damaged and can't be
opened, which means it has no Developer ID signature, not that the download
failed. Clear the quarantine flag once:

On Windows, SmartScreen shows an unknown-publisher warning: More info → Run
