The complete MAO English patch for WHITE ALBUM 2 Extended Edition.

Choose the archive for your platform:

Both archives include:

  • Introductory Chapter, Closing Chapter, and Coda
  • 71,196 translated script lines
  • 339 translated voice-only subtitle cues
  • The Idol Who Forgot How to Sing and The Snow Melts, and Until the Snow Falls as English PDFs
  • The replacement executable, English resources, fonts, and the platform-appropriate audio-subtitle hook

A legally obtained Japanese installation is required. Back up WA2.exe, copy the contents of game files into the game directory, and do not replace mv000.pak. Full installation instructions and the complete Japanese/English script browser are available on the project site.

Platform notes

The Windows archive contains a reproducible source build of Todokanai's native subtitle hook. Two independent clean builds produced the same DLL, and its architecture, exports, imports, runtime linkage, and release contents were structurally validated. Native-Windows gameplay has not been locally smoke-tested.

The Windows hook requires the legacy runtime containing D3DX9_43.dll. If the game opens to a black screen, install Microsoft's DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010). Deleting d3d9.dll disables only the 339 audio-only subtitle cues; the core translation remains available.

The Wine/CrossOver archive contains the installer-pinned Wine hook used for the recorded live CrossOver runtime test. It also includes Launch WHITE ALBUM 2.command for macOS users whose bottle displays native dialog buttons in Japanese.
