v0.3.22-beta Highlights

  • Installer updates now stage and verify every payload before touching the installed app, then restore the previous files and manifest automatically if replacement fails.
  • Silent install, same-version replacement, and private-data-preserving silent uninstall are exercised on Windows before release publication.
  • A second release job downloads the public setup EXE through Talk Dat!'s updater, verifies its SHA256 checksum, installs it twice, and uninstalls it.
  • Deepgram Nova-3 passed a credential-vault-backed Windows transcription smoke using generated speech audio without opening the microphone.
  • Official GitHub build actions now use their Node 24 generations, and the v0.3.21 fast formatter and motion improvements remain included.

  • Talk-Dat-Setup.exe is the recommended custom glass Windows installer.
  • Talk-Dat-Windows-Portable.zip is the no-installer portable build.

First Run

Launch the app, choose a speech provider, paste your own API key, and save setup. The microphone stays off until you press a trigger or click the pill.

Privacy

This release does not contain API keys, private config, dictionaries, snippets, or transcript history. On Windows, saved provider keys use Windows Credential Manager; non-secret preferences and local content stay under %APPDATA%\TalkDat.
