v0.3.24-beta Highlights
- Initializes PortAudio before enabling hotkeys, eliminating the several-second first-trigger stall that could miss an entire short dictation.
- Transcription worker updates now enter a nonblocking UI queue, so Pill rendering can never delay microphone capture.
- The local Qwen formatter remains loaded for the app lifetime; automatic formatting has a strict 1.2-second request budget and falls back to deterministic formatting instead of freezing paste.
- Verified local-model downloads, background Parakeet preparation, compact processing feedback, and the completion-only rainbow crossfade remain included.
- Transactional installer rollback, checksum-verified in-app updates, capture recovery, and public updater smoke tests remain included.

First Run
Launch the app, keep the no-key local default or choose a cloud provider with your own key, and save setup. The microphone stays off until you press a trigger or click the pill.
Privacy
This release does not contain API keys, private config, dictionaries, snippets, or transcript history. On Windows, saved provider keys use Windows Credential Manager; non-secret preferences and local content stay under %APPDATA%\TalkDat.
