v0.3.27-beta Highlights

  • Trigger-only Windows dictation with local safety recordings, one-pass recovery, and explicit microphone-off states.
  • Deepgram Nova-3 and verified local speech routes remain user-selected; no remote Talk Dat! database or audio backend is required.
  • The in-app updater verifies the installer after download and again immediately before launch.
  • The public download page resolves beta assets directly instead of relying on GitHub's stable-only latest-release route.
  • RELEASE-RECEIPT.json records the source commit, build environment, signing state, asset sizes, and SHA256 hashes.

  • Talk-Dat-Setup.exe is the recommended custom glass Windows installer.
  • Talk-Dat-Windows-Portable.zip is the no-installer portable build.
  • SHA256SUMS.txt and RELEASE-RECEIPT.json provide independent integrity and provenance details.

First Run

Launch the app, keep the no-key local default or choose a cloud provider with your own key, and save setup. The microphone stays off until you press a trigger or click the pill.

Privacy

This release does not contain API keys, private config, dictionaries, snippets, or transcript history. On Windows, saved provider keys use Windows Credential Manager; non-secret preferences and local content stay under %APPDATA%\TalkDat.
