I'm using a low-end computer so it will really help for the fps because even with sodium on my potato pc its getting 30 fps with sodium, thanks.

Also since Vanilla Minecraft is going to be getting Vulkan renderer as the default in coming updates, Voxy should start trying to get onto that environment.

back ports are a no rn on opengl already so this will most likely not happen and vulkanmod is different then the vulkan implimentation minecraft is working on. its unknown if voxy will update to vulkan no promises have been made so please keep expectations low. this is still a hobby project for fun

properly supporting Vulkan on a mod of THIS type, would be a very significant endeavor. To do so would likely require slowly dropping OpenGL support, significant changes, much more work, or some other tradeoff.
it is not impossible, just very hard. Therefore for those looking forward to this, while the dev may just surprise us all, if ever, only expect this to target Vulkan once Vanilla Minecraft fully uses such. And that's if it does so at all.

Until then, please respect the developer. The best way to help would be to learn the code (which itself would be significant undertaking of your own) and genuinely contribute.

Uhh, so mojang is working on blaze3d for the cross-backend. HOWEVER, VulkanMod modify's Fabric Rendering API (Creates a vulkan-based FRAPI Implementation) that is pretty performant on potato PCs. A seperate branch could be just for vulkan, but it's up to yall developers.

voxy would have to be written for vulkan its basically a completely different language so its not as easy as oh yes just detect and done it would need a big rewrite

Well yes, obviously implementing for another graphics protocol is hard, but I mean, I don't see why Voxy would need to drop OpenGL support. Could the two modes not coexist?

They could, but supporting both graphics APIs is more development effort and mojang plans to eventually remove OpenGL once their Vulkan implementation is fully stable and performant.
