VFR sectional charts — FAA edition 09-03-2026

Offline FAA VFR sectional charts for SDR Flight Aware (Android: MAP → VFR charts → Download a region). One MBTiles pack per sectional plus regions.json. Public-domain FAA data (Aeronautical Information Services), edition 09-03-2026, valid 56 days. Situational awareness only — not for primary navigation. Files are replaced each chart cycle; the app always reads this release.

SDR Flight Aware V1.4 — phone (full and Radar Lite) and Windows.

New since V1.2

• 978 MHz UAT + FIS-B (US): weather with no internet — NEXRAD radar, METAR/TAF in the airport cards, TFR / SIGMET / AIRMET shapes — and UAT traffic with TIS-B / ADS-R relays merged into the traffic list. One dongle can share 1090 and 978, or use a second dongle.
• Track log, debrief and logbook: flights record themselves; replay with the altitude profile; GPX / KML / CSV; logbook totals and landing currency.
• Checklists with speak mode: tap to check, skip, back; read aloud. Starter lists you edit to your aircraft.
• Route profile: the planned flight from the side — ground, climb and descent, airspace with floors and ceilings, lowest clearance.
• PLAN tools: measure distances (drag the points), ground level and airspace at any point, nearest airports.
• Markers toolbar (Windows): marker, line, object, POI, hazard, field — only lines join.
• Outs are opt-in: no best-out icon or downloads unless you turn them on; OUT shows on tap, settings on hold, minimize while flying; tap an out to hear if it's in glide.
• Glide range button on the phone map; Glide is its own page on Windows.
• Radio: cycle a list of frequencies 5 s each (airport card, Find, Bookmarks); sort Find / Scan lists by frequency or strength; Find keeps up to 100 signals.
• Look: multifunction-display style panels (Windows side pages, phone TOOLS).
• TCAS calls faster; FIND searches addresses and places; PLAN / FLY / TRACK work areas on Windows.

Install

• Phone: SDR.Flight.Aware.apk (full) or Radar.Lite.apk (aircraft and alerts only). Installs over earlier versions.
• Windows: unzip SDR.Flight.Aware.Windows.zip, double-click "SDR Flight Aware.cmd" (needs Java 17+; the launcher helps).

Receive-only. Not for primary navigation — check NOTAMs, TFRs and a proper briefing before flight.
