@MHGuitarte MHGuitarte released this 16 Oct 12:26

ygd-editor 0.19.3 — installers for macOS, Windows, Linux.

Download: https://mhguitarte.github.io/ygd-editor/ — it picks the build for your system and explains the first launch and how to verify a download.

Sessions and agents

  • The pop-out transcript works for every worktree. Open in its own window was refused for a session in an ordinary worktree; it opens now.
  • Prompts already waiting. A pop-out, or the console after a reload, shows Approve and Deny for a prompt that was waiting before it opened.
  • ACP agents say what is wrong. When an agent refuses to start a session, the message carries its reason and its own advice (Goose: run goose configure), not just "Internal error".
  • Mission control after a relaunch. A session's time in its lane counts from what it last did, not from when the app quit.
  • Terminals follow Settings. A theme, accent, code font or size picked in Settings reaches the terminals already open.

Workspaces and MCP servers

  • A missing folder no longer stops sessions. A workspace folder that was moved, deleted or is on an unplugged drive is left out of what agents are given, so Copilot sessions start again.
  • OpenCode reaches a folder behind a symlink in a workspace.
  • Remote MCP tokens. When a remote server's token variable is not set, Claude Code sends no token header, rather than the variable's name.

Sandbox on Linux

  • Git works in a main checkout again. With the Sandbox setting on, a repository's main checkout could not run git, inside the agent's commands and in the app while one ran. Both work now. The app's own git also refuses to run in a main checkout whose .git has grown a commondir file, which git never writes there.

Settings and profiles

  • Importing a profile asks first before it turns on automatic CI fixes or sessions that start for them, or changes the budget limits or any agent's price rates.
  • Settings that follow the global values can't be changed from the keyboard either while their section is locked.

Worktrees

  • The right changes at once. Opening a repository, switching to another or removing a worktree shows the next worktree's real changes, not "Working tree clean" until the next edit.
  • Everything known from launch. A worktree's path, its default tag, a rebase in progress, a stack and a missing or locked folder show from the start.
  • New worktree from the start page works from the menu bar with the window closed, the dock, the File menu and ⌘N.
  • Faster setup on macOS. Copy into new worktrees clones a copied folder, such as node_modules, in one call.

Keyboard, menus and display

  • Shift+F10 opens a row's menu on macOS.
  • Focus rings show whole on sidebar and session rows and on menu items.
  • Menus in small windows. A ··· menu taller than the window keeps its submenus in sight, and clicking a row with a submenu opens it.
  • One word per answer. German and Polish name Approve and Deny in the menu bar as the window does.

What's Changed

  • fix(profile): automatic CI fixes and the budget limits need a yes on import
  • fix(profile): every agent's price rates need the same yes on import
  • fix(worktrees): keep every fact main sends about a worktree at launch
  • feat(setup): clone a copied folder in one clonefile() call on macOS (first-party addon)
  • fix(shortcuts): New worktree runs from the start page, as its card offers
  • fix(popout): a worktree's id is its folder path, and the transcript window takes it
  • fix(sessions): a page that loads its sessions sees the prompt still waiting
  • fix(settings): a section that follows the global values is inert, not only greyed
  • fix(worktrees): the worktree the selection moves to has its changes read
  • fix(a11y): Shift+F10 opens a row's menu on macOS too
  • fix(a11y): list rows and menu items draw their focus ring inside
  • fix(terminal): a look changed in Settings is the terminals' on the way back
  • fix(sessions): the process closing does not count as a session's last activity
  • fix(menus): a menu taller than the window scrolls its rows, and its submenus stay in sight
  • fix(menus): a click on a row with a submenu opens it, rather than closing what the hover opened
  • fix(opencode): allow a workspace folder by its real path too, which is what OpenCode checks
  • fix(workspaces): agents are given only the workspace folders that are there
  • fix(acp): an agent's refusal says why and how to set it up, not only "Internal error"
  • fix(mcp): Claude names a remote server's token variable only when the environment has it
  • fix(sandbox): on Linux, shut no missing path git reads; the app's git refuses a planted commondir
  • fix(i18n): the menu bar names Approve and Deny with the window's words
  • docs(release-notes): add 0.19.3

Verifying: this release carries no Sigstore provenance (SHA256SUMS.txt.sigstore.json). Every installer is covered by SHA256SUMS.txt and its signature with the project key, SHA256SUMS.txt.sig; the download page explains how to check it.

@MHGuitarte MHGuitarte released this 14 Oct 10:29

ygd-editor 0.19.2 — installers for macOS, Windows, Linux.

Download: https://mhguitarte.github.io/ygd-editor/ — it picks the build for your system and explains the first launch and how to verify a download.

Agents

  • Any ACP agent. Add Goose, Kimi CLI or any other agent that speaks ACP in Settings › AI providers, with its command and arguments. Copilot and ACP agents now take images, and you can send an image with no text.
  • Remote MCP servers. An MCP server can be an HTTPS address, with a bearer token taken from an environment variable. Codex runs MCP tools without asking when commands are allowed.
  • Antigravity. Its model picker lists the models your account can use, and Move to Antigravity CLI can bring your Gemini extensions along as plugins.
  • Forks and continues. They're titled by your note, or by the session they came from, and can be stacked on their source. A Claude turn that ended in an error now forks properly.
  • More folders for OpenCode and Copilot. Their sessions reach the workspace's other folders.

Permissions and sandbox

  • Why "Always" is missing. A prompt with no "Always allow" says why in one line under its buttons, naming the file it reads when it can.
  • More commands ask every time. terraform, tofu and terragrunt apply or destroy with -auto-approve. Any kubectl, oc, aws, docker or helm command whose options name a kubeconfig, CA, client certificate or config file. aws athena start-calculation-execution and gcloud compute config-ssh only ever get the exact command. Saved rules that allowed more are dropped.
  • Options don't hide the command. docker --context … and helm --kube-context … are judged by their real verb.
  • A tighter sandbox. Under the Sandbox setting, agents can't write the parts of .git that would redirect the app's own git, or plant commands in a rebase's state that the app would run when it continues. So an agent's own git rebase, cherry-pick, revert, sparse-checkout and worktree add fail there: rebase from the app instead. Commits on a packed branch no longer print a packed-refs.lock error.
  • Clearer auto-deny. The message says "30 s" or "1.5 min" instead of "0 min".

Git and worktrees

  • LFS and git-crypt files merge as content. Send edits back, End and Commit this turn merge them as their real content, never as pointers.
  • Bare repositories. Make current, the rest of the current-worktree session and Checkout to… now work there, in the worktree that stands in as the default one.
  • Faster status on big repositories. On repositories over about 12,000 files the changes list refreshes roughly twice as fast, with no setting needed. A repository that sets core.untrackedCache to false is left as it was.
  • Collision radar. It compares the most recently active worktrees, 12 by default, and says which it left out. Settings › Git › Collision radar: worktrees compared sets the number, per repository too.
  • Turns. A turn's diff includes an edit a fast agent made while its checkpoint was being taken. Turns work on a branch with no commits yet. A committed turn says "committed as abc1234". A session moved to another worktree keeps its earlier turns where they ran.
  • Linux. Deleting a branch after git gc, and repeated commits from a terminal, now refresh the worktree list.
  • Smaller fixes. Opening a repository from a linked worktree applies its own Base remote and Base branch right away. Take out of the workspace works for a folder that is a linked worktree. Worktree list refreshes are no longer lost. Settings › Worktree variables flags unknown {{placeholders}} as you type.

Pull requests, review and prompts

  • Fork pull requests. The PR card shows pull requests from forks, and for worktrees checked out from a pull request.
  • Review comments on ranges. A comment can cover several lines, and removing a worktree removes its comments.
  • Stacks survive a restart. Undo restack, the last landing run and pending new-branch pull requests are kept.
  • Prompt library. Save to repository writes a prompt into the worktree, {{issue}} comes from the pull request's "Closes #N", and settings profiles can carry your prompts.
  • Tidy commits is in the command palette, with ⌘⇧T / Ctrl+Shift+T.
  • Instructions sync offers to remove what an older copy of AGENTS.md repeats.

Costs

  • Model switches are priced per model. A session that switched models costs the sum of each model's price, on its card and against its limit. Qwen turns are priced at the model actually used.
  • Cursor in the usage report. Cursor turns appear there, with cost unknown.
  • The subscription meter also counts commit, squash and PR drafts, reviews and Test connection.
  • Amounts in your language. Budget amounts in messages use your language's number format.

Sessions, inbox and notifications

  • Push only when you're away. Settings › Notifications › Push only when away for holds phone pushes until you've been away that many minutes. It's off by default.
  • CI fixes without a session. Settings › Git › Start a session for automatic CI fixes lets the CI fix loop start a session in a worktree that has none, under the same limits. It's off by default.
  • Needs input lists sessions stopped while asking a question, with Continue, until you send them a message.
  • Archived sessions open on their last page with formatted rows, and a search hit further back loads the pages up to it.
  • The verification gate also checks Claude turns that changed files only through shell commands.
  • A newer version's sessions. A worktree whose sessions are hidden by a newer version's index says so, once.

The app

  • The pop-out transcript can approve or deny a tool's prompt, and reopens where you last closed it.
  • Menu bar and dock. With the window closed, "Open the session", "New worktree" and recent repositories do what they say once the window opens.
  • Keyboard in row menus. The sidebar's and sessions' row menus take the focus when they open, ↑ ↓ move in them, and Escape closes one and returns focus.
  • Menus fit the window. ··· menus stay inside it at the bottom and right edges and in short windows.
  • Mission control. Lanes fold from their heading, a repository menu narrows the board in a workspace, and elapsed times survive a relaunch.
  • Smaller fixes. No more dark strip under the terminal. At 110–150% interface scale the page never scrolls sideways. Going back to a file in the diff shows its colours at once. A background worktree whose changes couldn't be read says "out of date" on its row. New task picks its agent from a dropdown.

What's Changed

  • fix(current): merge LFS and other filtered files as their content
  • fix(permissions): aws athena start-calculation-execution gets only exact rules
  • fix(repos): read a repository's settings by its identity on first load
  • fix(dev): run pnpm dev on a home of its own, never ~/.ygd-editor
  • fix(pr): the PR card finds a pull request from a fork
  • fix(watcher): watch the git dir folder by folder on Linux
  • fix(permissions): no rule for a command that names its kubeconfig or CA file
  • fix(packaging): fail a package that carries the mock backend
  • perf(cleanup): read the remote's default branch from the ref table
  • perf(status): run status looks on a copy of the index where the untracked cache is on
  • fix(review): a comment on a range of lines, and none left behind by a removed worktree
  • fix(sandbox): shut what in .git redirects the app's own git, in both layouts
  • feat(tidy): Tidy commits in the command palette, with a shortcut
  • fix(release): stop the cross-compiler step when apt-get update fails
  • feat(current): Make current and Checkout to… in bare repositories
  • feat(instructions): offer removing what an older partial copy of AGENTS.md repeats
  • fix(permissions): pin gcloud compute config-ssh and the product-name reading
  • fix(stack): restack Undo and the landing queue survive a restart

  • feat(permissions): say in the approval prompt why "Always" is missing
  • fix(workspaces): take a repository opened from a linked worktree out of its workspace
  • fix(permissions): the auto-deny message says seconds under a minute
  • feat(popout): answer prompts, remember the frame and report errors in the transcript window

  • fix(window): raise the window's minimum width with the interface scale
  • fix(turns): show an edit made while the checkpoint before the turn was being taken
  • feat(prompts): save a prompt to the repository, {{issue}} from the PR, prompts in profiles
  • fix(tray): deliver the menu bar's and the dock's asks once a new window is up
  • feat(settings): flag unknown placeholders in Worktree variables as they are typed
  • fix(sandbox): open packed-refs.lock to a linked worktree's commits
  • fix(turns): checkpoints on an unborn branch, a committed marker, turns kept in their worktree
  • fix(permissions): no rule for terraform apply or destroy with -auto-approve
  • test(mcp): fail with what it waited for when the exits never come
  • fix(worktrees): a relist asked for while one runs runs once after it
  • feat(agents): Antigravity's live model list, sign-in record cleared by sessions, Gemini extensions in the move
  • perf(radar): compare at most the 12 most recently active worktrees of a repository
  • fix(tasks): a task's new worktree is relisted, as New worktree's is
  • fix(agents): one effort rule everywhere, archived records included
  • feat(agents): a custom ACP agent from Settings, workspace folders for OpenCode and Copilot, Cursor's prompt on stdin on Windows
  • fix(a11y): row menus take the focus, close on Escape and give it back

ygd-editor 0.19.1

Choose a tag to compare

@MHGuitarte MHGuitarte released this 13 Oct 11:08
3f64e7e

ygd-editor 0.19.1 — installers for macOS, Windows, Linux.

Download: https://mhguitarte.github.io/ygd-editor/ — it picks the build for your system and explains the first launch and how to verify a download.

Costs

  • Codex counts each turn once. A Codex session no longer adds earlier turns' tokens and cost again on every new prompt, so the session's cost, the day's spend and the limits match what Codex really used.
  • Cursor cost reads "unknown". Cursor CLI reports neither tokens nor cost, so its sessions say "unknown" instead of $0.00, and a tooltip explains why. No spending limit counts them.

Sandbox

  • Claude Code commits in linked worktrees. Under the Sandbox setting (the Yolo preset's default), Claude Code can now commit in a linked worktree. Only the git folders a commit needs are opened. Codex still can't commit there under the sandbox, so commit from the app.
  • ygd run stays yours. Sandboxed agents can no longer start ygd run on their own. While a sandboxed Codex session is open, ygd run asks before it starts anything.

Permissions

  • More cloud commands are approved one at a time. Approving an aws scheduled runner, a SQL statement (Athena, Redshift Data, RDS Data), a function URL, endpoint-service permissions, organization sharing or any cloudformation create-stack now approves only that exact command. Saved rules that approved more are dropped.
  • Global options don't hide the verb. A kubectl, oc, aws or terraform command written after options such as -n prod or -chdir gets the same protection as without them.

The app

  • New worktrees stay listed. A worktree or task started while the worktree list is refreshing no longer disappears from the sidebar, and a removed worktree no longer comes back.
  • Menus fit short windows. Submenus of the ··· menus stay inside the window, and scroll when they are taller than it.
  • Fewer repeated toasts. A burst of unreadable or refused ygd:// links shows one toast instead of one per link.

What's Changed

  • fix(sandbox): let sandboxed Claude Code commit in a linked worktree
  • test: wait for git's answer in the watcher's ignore test, and build fewer worktrees in cleanup's
  • fix(usage): count a resumed Codex thread's tokens once
  • fix(permissions): make aws scheduled runners, SQL runners and lifecycle configs exact-only
  • fix(worktrees): keep worktrees made or removed during a relist
  • fix(cli): keep sandboxed agents from driving ygd run; fold bad-link toasts
  • fix(menus): keep a submenu inside a short window
  • fix(permissions): make aws function URLs, endpoint service permissions, org sharing and create-stack exact-only
  • fix(budget): show a Cursor session's cost as unknown, never $0
  • fix(permissions): read aws, kubectl, oc and terraform global options before the exact-only tables
  • test: a 60 s default timeout for the suite, and a longer stream in the watcher's debounce test
  • docs(release-notes): add 0.19.1

Verifying: this release carries no Sigstore provenance (SHA256SUMS.txt.sigstore.json). Every installer is covered by SHA256SUMS.txt and its signature with the project key, SHA256SUMS.txt.sig; the download page explains how to check it.

@MHGuitarte MHGuitarte released this 13 Oct 08:55
3f64e7e

ygd-editor 0.19.0 — installers for macOS, Windows, Linux.

Download: https://mhguitarte.github.io/ygd-editor/ — it picks the build for your system and explains the first launch and how to verify a download.

Watching many agents

  • Mission control. Every agent session of the workspace on one board, in lanes: Needs input, Running, Idle with unreviewed changes, PR open and Done. Approve, deny or reply from a card without opening the session.
  • Task board. A backlog of tasks per repository that starts each one in its own worktree with its agent, as long as you are under the session limit. Tasks can repeat daily or weekly at a set time.
  • Start from an issue or a pull request. New worktree can start from one of the repository's open issues, or check out someone's pull request.
  • Menu bar and dock. The menu bar icon lists the sessions waiting on you, with Approve and Deny right there, even while the window is closed.
  • Phone notifications. Get a push on your phone (ntfy or a Slack-compatible webhook) when a session needs input or a pull request's checks fail. It is off by default.
  • Quota meter. Claude Code's 5-hour and weekly windows, and Codex's, are shown per agent, and new work can wait until there is quota again.

More agents

  • Antigravity, Cursor, OpenCode, Qwen Code and Copilot CLI join Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI. Their cards install them with the vendor's own installer.
  • Images in prompts. Paste, drop or attach screenshots in the composer.
  • Plan first. The agent answers with a plan and writes nothing until you approve it.
  • Verification gate. When an agent ends a turn that changed files, the worktree's check runs, and a failure goes back to the agent. Turn it on in Settings › Worktree setup.
  • Continue with another agent. Hand a session over to another agent in the same worktree, with the conversation and the turns so far.
  • Prompt library. Type / for your saved prompts and the repository's, with {{branch}}, {{issue}} and {{selection}} filled in, for every agent.
  • MCP servers and instructions, once for every agent. Declare MCP servers in Settings or in the repository, and edit AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md and the other instruction files in one place, kept in sync.
  • Sandbox. Settings › Permissions › Sandbox keeps agents' commands inside the worktree, or off the network too. The Strict preset uses No network and Yolo uses Worktree.

Reviewing and landing

  • Collision radar. Two worktrees editing the same lines show a predicted conflict before either commits.
  • Review comments and a second opinion. Comment on any diff line, ask another agent to review the changes, and let a judge compare attempts.
  • Turns you can use. Commit a single turn, see blame by turn, or fork a session at any turn into a new worktree.
  • Tidy commits. Squash, fixup, reword, drop or move the branch's commits before the pull request, without an editor.
  • Stacked worktrees. Start a worktree on top of another, restack it when the one below moves, and retarget it when that one merges.
  • Landing queue. Bring ready worktrees up to date, check and merge them one at a time, in a safe order.
  • Fix CI. When a pull request's checks fail, Fix CI sends the agent the failing logs, with secrets removed.

The app

  • Worktree hygiene. See each worktree's size on disk, then prune, unlock, repair or clean up.
  • Isolated worktrees. Worktree setup can give each worktree its own variables, such as a port or a database name, so two can run side by side.
  • Layout. Dock the terminal under the changes, switch between layout presets, use focus mode, or pop a transcript into its own window.
  • Accessibility. Settings › Accessibility adds interface scale, increased contrast, reduced motion and always-visible focus rings.
  • Settings profile. Export your settings to a file and import them on another machine. Secrets stay out unless you tick them.
  • Beta channel. Settings › About & updates › Update channel can get beta releases.
  • Crash reports and Report a bug. Crashes are recorded on your machine and offered at the next launch. Nothing is sent unless you choose to.
  • ygd on the command line. ygd open, ygd run and ygd doctor from a terminal, and ygd:// links that open the app.

ygd-editor 0.17.9

ygd-editor 0.17.9 — installers for macOS, Windows, Linux.

Download: https://mhguitarte.github.io/ygd-editor/ — it picks the build for your system and explains the first launch and how to verify a download.

0.17.9 is the first release since 0.17.4: it carries the work of milestones 0.17.5 to 0.17.9, which were not released on their own.

Highlights

  • Approvals cover only what you saw. "Always allow" no longer records a rule that also approves something destructive. Deletes, force options and commands that run other commands get exact rules only: git checkout/restore/switch/branch/reset, ssh and other command runners, git options that name a program (--upload-pack, rebase -x), container, cluster and VM commands (docker exec, kubectl delete, helm uninstall, colima ssh), and infrastructure CLIs (terraform destroy, every terraform apply, aws/gcloud/az deletes). Saved rules that were wider than that are dropped when the app starts, so a few commands will ask once more.
  • More destructive forms ask. git checkout -f, git checkout -- ., git restore, git switch --discard-changes, git branch -f/-M, git reset --merge, shortened options (--har), a variable or a glob that could expand to --force or -rf (git push origin $REF, rm *), and … 2>&1 --force, which used to slip through.
  • PowerShell on Windows. Yolo now pre-approves PowerShell along with Bash on Windows only, and PowerShell lines are read the way PowerShell reads them (variables, @(…), redirections, globs passed literally to git).
  • Sessions. Moving a session and changing its model or effort now wait their turn behind a starting prompt; a busy session's card no longer stays on "running" after a cut-off restart; a session whose CLI dies at once disappears from the window; Codex and Gemini no longer refuse the prompt after a move.
  • Errors in your language. CLI download failures, attachment failures (timeouts, refused connections), Amend-to-new-branch steps and commit/PR draft fallbacks are translated.
  • Activity log. The worktree's ··· menu has Copy activity log.
  • Accessibility. The Changes section heads, the Settings section list and the header brand are reachable by keyboard; the merge-method picker and the settings.json editor have names.
  • Release and packaging. app.asar is written completely before packaging continues (a patched @electron/asar 3.4.1); the Windows release check also verifies the embedded uninstaller; the local and workflow halves of a release write identical checksum files and never publish a Sigstore bundle that does not match.

ygd-editor 0.17.3 — installers for macOS, Windows, Linux.

Download: https://mhguitarte.github.io/ygd-editor/ — it picks the build for your system and explains the first launch and how to verify a download.

Windows, 0.14.3 to 0.17.2: the app on your machine cannot update itself to this version. Download
ygd-editor-0.17.3-win-x64-setup.exe from the download page and install it over the one you have,
once; your settings and sessions stay. Updates from 0.17.3 on install the usual way.
