Backlot 0.5.1 replaces 0.5.0. Same features; the build is fixed:

  • The app is now signed ad hoc, so macOS offers Open Anyway on first launch instead of reporting it as damaged. It is still not notarized: after install run xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Backlot.app or use Open Anyway in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
  • The license, copyright and third-party notices ship inside the app.
  • Reference PDFs that should not have been bundled are gone.

Apple Silicon, macOS 13 or later. Homebrew users: brew upgrade --cask backlot.

Also attached: source archives for the bundled runtime (Electron 44.2.0, Chromium 152.0.7977.76, Chromium's FFmpeg fork and NASM) and SHA256SUMS.
