Fastfetch Wallpaper
Version 1.0
Animated desktop wallpaper inspired by the Fastfetch terminal interface.
This wallpaper turns the desktop into a live terminal-style system HUD, displaying system information, music playback data and subtle visual effects while keeping the workspace clean and readable.
The project was created as a personal experiment to combine terminal aesthetics, minimal system monitoring and Wallpaper Engine web wallpapers.
Features
• Fastfetch-style system information
• Live CPU, RAM and disk usage indicators
• Audio spectrum visualizer
• Now Playing music integration
• ASCII album artwork rendering
• Dynamic accent color based on album cover
• Animated Windows logo wave effect
• Subtle CRT glow and visual effects
• Minimal watermark logo
The wallpaper is designed to be visually interesting without distracting from normal desktop usage.
Important
This project does not include a pre-generated Wallpaper Engine project file.
Wallpaper Engine sometimes fails to load project files created on other machines, so the wallpaper is distributed as source files instead.
You must create the wallpaper locally inside Wallpaper Engine.
Installation
-
Extract the archive to any folder.
-
Open Wallpaper Engine.
-
Launch the Wallpaper Editor.
-
Click:
Create Wallpaper → Web Wallpaper
- When asked for the entry file, select:
index.html
- Save the wallpaper project.
The wallpaper should now run normally.
Helper Service
The wallpaper can optionally use a small helper application to retrieve system information.
The helper provides:
• CPU usage
• RAM usage
• disk statistics
• system uptime
Run the included helper installer if you want these values to update in real time.
Without the helper the wallpaper will still work, but system information may remain static.
Notes
This project was created as a personal desktop experiment and shared for others who enjoy terminal-style interfaces and minimal animated wallpapers.
