Major Features and Changes

  • Feature Flags Support: Introduced feature flags to enable or disable advanced parsing, compression, storage metrics, and HTTP metrics via environment variables.

  • Advanced Parsing Pipeline (Optional):

    • Added new fluent-bit-advanced-parsing.yaml config with structured, service-dependent log parsing (service routing, Lua post-processing, specialized log formats).
    • Optionally enabled via ENABLE_ADVANCED_PARSING for high-fidelity log extraction and labeling for MOV.AI backend and spawner services.
    • Configurable Compression and Metrics:
      • Compression type and metric reporting are now environment-configurable for Loki output.
      • Default compression uses Snappy (can now be toggled).

  • Docker Entrypoint Overhaul:

    • Added a new entrypoint.sh to select config and environment variables at container launch based on feature flags, replacing direct command invocation.
    • Improved logging of active feature flags and runtime configuration.

Other Improvements

  • Configuration Clean-Up:
    • YAML files updated with clearer comments, conditional parameters, and more distinct flows for advanced vs. generic log parsing.
    • Generic config (fluent-bit.yaml) simplified for low-CPU scenarios.
