Survival Bible Guide PWA — Full Rebuild & Fixes

This release replaces the previous Windows desktop version with a Progressive Web App (PWA) that runs on any device — Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iPhone — with no installation required beyond a web browser.

What's included:

  • 74 survival topics covering water purification, fire making, shelter, first aid, food storage, navigation, signaling, wilderness medicine, urban survival, self-defense, foraging, and more
  • 31,102 Bible verses (American Standard Version), fully searchable
  • Works completely offline after the first time you open it
  • Dark theme, mobile-friendly layout with sidebar navigation
  • Three search modes: Survival only, Bible only, or Both at once
  • Can be installed as a standalone app on any device (no app store needed)

What was fixed in this release:

  • 15 survival entries were stored as raw JSON and displaying as unreadable text — all converted to clean, formatted instructions
  • Two topic titles displayed "with images" in the name — renamed to clean titles
  • All underscore-style topic names converted to readable titles
  • Removed leftover [Visual: placeholder] lines from the Beginner Survival Guide
  • Added README.txt with step-by-step installation instructions for Windows, Mac, and Linux
  • Added GitHub Pages deployment instructions so anyone can host it free online

How to open it:

  1. Download and extract the ZIP
  2. Open a terminal or command prompt in the folder
  3. Run: python3 -m http.server 8000
  4. Open your browser and go to: http://localhost:8000

See README.txt inside the ZIP for full instructions including Mac, Linux, phone, and GitHub Pages hosting.

Files in this release:
index.html · survival_data.js · bible_data.js · sw.js · manifest.json · README.txt · HOW_TO_OPEN.txt

You can use that as-is or trim it however you like. If you want a shorter version for the title field, something like "PWA Rebuild — All Devices, Offline, Fixed Content" works well.
