Changes

  • Kernel updated to 7.2.9
  • Lossless Scaling issue fixed

Supposedly fixed:

  • Inverted touch input in Gaming Mode on the AYN Thor

  • Controller detection and inverted display issues on the Retroid Pocket 6

  • For AYANEO devices, the system should now boot correctly. However, if you confirm that the black screen issue occurs again, I will remove AYANEO support. Its boot process is different and more complex to implement, and without having a physical device available to make and test the necessary adjustments, it becomes almost impossible to properly fine-tune remotely.

Highlights

  • Fixed Home and QAM menus appearing behind a running game.
  • MangoApp now follows the QAM performance-overlay setting, appears only
while a game is focused, and no longer shrinks the game when menus open.
  • Fixed Switch to Desktop returning to Game Mode; Plasma Wayland now
    starts reliably.
  • Added a coherent, verified SM8550 graphics stack: Wayland 1.26, Vulkan
loader 1.4.309, LLVM 19.1, project Turnip, and matching EGL/GLX/GBM/DRI.
  • Prevented Lutris dependencies from replacing the verified Mesa, Wayland,
Vulkan, LLVM, systemd, or GLVND platform libraries.
  • Added Lutris and a native Linux ARM64 build of Heroic Games Launcher.
  • Fixed Discover/Flatpak installation failures caused by revokefs-fuse,
helper paths, and lost fusermount privileges.
  • Fixed the Steam on-screen keyboard in Plasma.
  • Fixed duplicated, stuck, or phantom keyboard/controller input when using
USB or Bluetooth keyboards and mice.
  • A short power-button press now suspends; a long press remains power-off.

Decky Loader

  • Decky now runs as a Game Mode user service through Box64.
  • Removed the legacy root PluginLoader service that survived session changes
and delayed shutdown while LSFG-VK processes were active.
  • Valve FEX-Emu remains restricted to Steam/Proton games and no longer
    replaces the global Box64 handler.
  • Fixed Decky disappearing after reboot.
  • Fixed the black screen with a cursor in the top-left corner caused by two
Steam clients starting in the same Game Mode session.

First boot and image build

  • Fixed the post-Wi-Fi update/restart loop during Steam first-time setup.
  • The three-partition BOOT + root + home image is packed tightly, and
the home partition expands to the remaining card capacity on first boot.
  • Production images no longer enable persistent QAM/debug logging.
  • Added reproducible build documentation and a hardware release checklist.

Installation

Install ROCKNIX ABL first, flash the v1.1 image to a microSD card, select the
correct device model in ABL, and boot Linux. The first boot can take 2–3
minutes.

The AYN Odin 2 is tested. Other supported SM8550 devices remain untested
unless explicitly stated in the project README.

###WARNING
There is a minor issue with this image: it doesn't display MangoHud, and accessing the menu renders some games inoperable.
The issue is currently being fixed.

Install ROCKNIX ABL first. You can use the ABL installation scripts for Android. Flash the image with balenaEtcher or Rufus. On the device: Vol- → Set the Device → your model → Linux → START.

The first boot can take 2–3 minutes. The home partition grows to the rest of the card.
