📝 Release Notes — v2.0.0

This release marks a full architectural reset of `maatify/data-adapters`
and establishes a stable, DI-first public contract for v2.x.

Backward compatibility with v1.x is intentionally not preserved.

⚠️ Breaking Change

  • This is a major breaking release
  • All repository, query, and abstraction layers from v1.x are removed
  • The package no longer provides unified APIs, configuration loading,
    environment handling, or runtime behavior

✨ What’s Included

  • Explicit DI-first adapters for:

    • MySQL (PDO)
    • MySQL (Doctrine DBAL)
    • Redis (ext-redis)
    • Redis (Predis)
    • MongoDB (MongoDB\Database)
  • Minimal AdapterInterface exposing getDriver() only

  • Optional adapter factories with strict construction boundaries

  • Typed AdapterCreationException for factory failures

  • Full documentation defining scope, lifecycle, misuse traps,
    and dependency rules

  • Explicit, minimal usage examples for all supported drivers

  • OSS hygiene files:

    • SECURITY.md
    • CONTRIBUTING.md
    • CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md

🔒 Design Principles (v2)

  • This library is a DI boundary, not a framework
  • No abstraction, no magic, no runtime logic
  • No configuration loading or environment variables
  • All behavior beyond driver ownership is explicit
  • Optional dependencies are declared via suggest only

📦 Requirements

  • PHP >= 8.4
  • maatify/common ^2.0
  • Driver-specific dependencies are optional

🧭 Upgrade Notes

  • Users of v1.x must rewrite integrations
  • Migration is intentionally explicit and manual
  • See the documentation and examples before upgrading

🟢 Stability

  • v2.0.0 establishes the stable public API for v2.x
  • Future changes will remain backward-compatible within v2
