Stargate TTRPG — Player Guide

Your Character

Your character has the following attributes:

  • Name & Rank — Who you are and your title in the field
  • Level — Your experience. Starts at 1 and increases over time
  • HP — Your hit points. If they reach 0, you are out of action
  • Race — Determines your combat multiplier (see below)

Races

Your race gives you a multiplier that applies to all your actions in combat.

Race Multiplier
Tau'ri ×1.0
Jaffa ×1.25
Tok'ra ×1.5
Goa'uld ×2.0
  • Jaffa are limited in technology
  • Tok'ra characters risk Host Refusal during unexpected outcomes (see below).
  • Goa'uld have a reduced card count (level -3)

Cards

Cards represent your abilities, weapons, and equipment. Each card has a Power value.

  • Abilities — Skills and special techniques
  • Weapons — Firearms, blades, and other armaments
  • Objects — Equipment and tools

Card Slots

You can carry a limited number of cards: 5 + your Level.

A level 1 character has 6 slots. A level 3 character has 8 slots, and so on.

Locked Cards

A locked card have a power of 2 instead of 1, but wil permanently take a slot in your character.

Engaging an Action

When you take an action in combat or a tense situation:

  1. Click Engage Action on your character sheet
  2. Select the cards you want to use
  3. Your Total Power is calculated: sum of selected card values × your race multiplier
  4. Click Submit — the result is posted to chat

Choose your cards wisely. Higher value cards mean more power, but you may not always have the right cards available.

Unexpected Outcome

After submitting an action, you can click Roll Unexpected Outcome (d100) in the chat. This introduces a random element to your action.

Roll Result
1–5 Catastrophic Failure — something went terribly wrong
6–20 (Tok'ra only) Host Refusal — the host refuses to cooperate
6–95 Normal Outcome
96–100 Amazing Success — everything went perfectly

The GM decides how the outcome affects the narrative.
